Change of Uniform

The Board have supported the PTA move to update our school uniform shirt. All children will receive their first shirt free and may purchase a second for $35 from the school. Students in Year 8 may wear their current polo shirt as an alternative for the rest of the year but all others must wear the new one only. The new shirt is fairly plain, dark blue with a white school logo made from a stain resistant, quick dry fabric. The first order will be sent away this week so, hopefully we will be into the new shirt by the third term. The polar fleece jersey and navy pants or shorts remains the same. A note will be sent home today for extra orders.

Chooks in the Hen House

A huge thank you to our caretaker Bill who worked quickly to finish off our Hen House ready for it's new inhabitants last week! This had been started as a legacy project by a number of Year 7 & 8 students last year with money donated from TAG Oil. ITM Stratford donated the last of the timber etc. needed to complete the house. Seven hens (given to us by Kelsey's grandad, thanks Ivan) have taken up residence and appear to like their new home! Children in Whio and Pukeko Rooms are rostered on to feed them, mainly with scraps from children's lunchboxes.

Jones Cup

The traditional annual rugby / netball Jones Cup tournament is to be at Toko on Monday 25th June from 9.30am. This rural cluster event is for all year 5-8 children and is intended as a chance for all players to have a go regardless of whether they are in a Saturday team or not. Teams will be organised next week with the expectation that they will begin daily practices from 11 June. If you are able to help with a team, either practices or on the day please see Miss Whittaker. More information over the coming weeks.

Canterbury Clothing Order

Thank you to Stacey for coordinating our Canterbury Clothing order again this year. Order forms were sent home last week. Please have orders plus payment back at school by Friday 25th May. Last year the school made a small profit that was used to purchase sports equipment for the PE shed. This year it is hoped any profit will be used to help offset costs of developing our outdoor classroom space ie. hedging and native plants.

Tutaki Youth Week

We are very lucky to have an event here at school next Wednesday lunchtime. Tutaki will provide a barbeque and a number of activities for children to participate in. The theme for this year's Youth Week is "Be who you want to be". All are welcome to come along and join in.
