PRINCIPAL MCBRIDE MONTHLY MESSAGE
Hello Lansdowne Families ~
Happy 2022! I hope this new year is finding you safe and healthy. We are glad to welcome back our lions after a restful winter break. The building is back in action re-establishing routines, expectations, and continued learning. Teachers are working hard to provide students with highly engaging daily lessons. Moreover, staff is working together to ensure students social emotional needs are also being met. Thank you to our families as well for your continued partnership.
Believe it or not the end of second quarter is quickly approaching. The conclusion of second quarter is Friday, January 21st. Students will have a half day so teachers can begin to prepare data/grade collection. Report cards will be distributed to families on Monday, February 7, 2022. Copies will be sent home with students, parents may also view report cards via FOCUS.
Extracurricular activities at LES are continuing to provide meaningful and uplifting opportunities for our lions. Our 5th grade safety patrol is a well-run team, coordinated by Ms. Borgmann, PE. Teacher. Our safeties take great pride in their role throughout the day in the building. Our intermediate students are also having the opportunity to participate in the Drama Club ~ SchoolHouseRock Live! More information to come regarding a Spring showcase. We are thankful to Ms. Glassman and Dr. Veal for coordinating the efforts along with a few other LES staff members. Lastly, Battle of the Books group is preparing for the Spring as well with Mrs. Lynch. We can’t wait for our LES lions to demonstrate all their hard work!
Have a great January!

The CDC guidelines that relaxed masking recommendations and were released on May 13, 2021, were directed towards vaccinated individuals only.
Outdoors – Effective May 17, 2021, masks are no longer required to be worn outdoors. Unmasked individuals should maintain physical distancing of at least three feet or to the greatest extent possible. Mask wearing continues to be recommended for all persons who have not been vaccinated.
