Parent/Teacher Conferences
The district gives us two half days on October 20th and 21st for conferences in the fall. In order for teachers to see all parents, teachers have scheduled conferences the entire week.
The conferences are usually limited to about 20 - 30 minutes, and we ask you to be respectful of other people's time and try not to go over your scheduled time. If you feel you need to have more discussion, please do not hesitate to schedule a follow up conference.
As a parent, it's helpful to prepare some questions for the teacher about anything that confused you or raised a concern. However, if you are not able to get all of your questions answered, please ask for a meeting or phone call at another time.
Although the district has scheduled these days for parent conferences, you are free to request a parent/teacher conference at any time. Teachers will schedule conferences before school, after school or during their planning period.
Meadow Wood Student Council News
The Student Council helps promote a sense of community and school spirit at Meadow Wood. In addition, the Council plans and assists in the implementation of school wide service projects and supports our school wide character education initiative.
The representatives were selected from each fourth and fifth grade homeroom through a process involving classmates and teacher input. Current fifth graders that served on the Student Council last year continue to serve this year.
The following students were selected for having satisfactory grades and conduct, following the Eagle SOAR Guidelines, and being role models to others.
It is going to be a fun filled, productive year with this creative group!

MWE - NO PLACE FOR HATE
Meadow Wood earned the distinction as a No Place for Hate® School for the 2015-2016 school year. This is our 4th consecutive year to earn this recognition.
The No Place for Hate® initiative provides educators and students with the resources to ensure that anti-bias and diversity education are an integral part of the school curriculum. No Place for Hate® also helps to create and sustain inclusive school environments where all students feel valued and have the opportunity to succeed by promoting respect for individual differences.
Our activities in past years have included adopting and practicing the Bucket Filling philosophy, the Random Act of Kindness campaign, and International Night.
We are extremely proud of the concerted efforts of our staff and students in promoting a safe and caring learning environment, which allowed us to earn the No Place for Hate® recognition.
We will continue our efforts this year with the support of our PTA, Student Council, staff, and student body.
