There was a wide variety of delicious food and desserts! Again, thank you for all of your hard work that day from set up to breakdown.
We are very excited to host the STEAM Innovation Awards on October 25, 2019 at the Metropolitan Club in Alpharetta to celebrate the many successes of our school and to honor organizations that support STEAM education in the Atlanta area.

Middle School History and Academic Bowl Exhibit This Saturday
Coach Jodie Bennion will be hosting the FSA Middle School History and Academic Bowl Exhibit this Saturday, September 7th at FSA in room M1. If any middle school students are interested in joining one or both of these teams please come check out the rules, watch or participate in the competition play. The Academic Bowl Exhibit will be from 11:00-11:45 and the History Bowl Exhibit will be held from 11:45-12:30. Please feel free to contact Coach Bennion with any questions: jodiebennion@gmail.com or visit the following link for more information regarding the rules and national competition information:
https://www.iacompetitions.com
Club practices for both teams will be held Wednesday after school in room M16 and every other Saturday from 11:00-12:30. The cost of this team will be $50 for one team or $75 for both teams.
If a student participates on both the Academic and History Bowl Teams, they will only be counted as one team towards FSA's two academic team limit policy, as these competitions are usually held in conjunction and won't conflict much with other academic team competitions. However, if a student is already enrolled in two other academic teams at FSA, they would need to drop one of those teams to add the Academic/ History Bowl Teams.
Both of these teams will be competing in regional competitions throughout the year and will more than likely be competing at the National Championship Competition in Chicago this summer from June 12th -15th.
Please come join in the fun!
29th Annual Rivers Alive! Clean-Up Saturday, September 28, 2019
We have officially signed up for the Rivers Alive Cleanup in Roswell on September 28th! There is a waiver posted at the bottom of this entry. Each volunteer has to complete the form and either bring it to Mrs. Beck, or bring it to the event! Students, this would be a fantastic opportunity to earn volunteer hours!
"Rivers Alive is Georgia's annual volunteer waterway cleanup event that targets all waterways in the State including streams, rivers, lakes, beaches, and wetlands. The mission of Rivers Alive is to create awareness of and involvement in the preservation of Georgia's water resources. Rivers Alive is held annually each fall and is a program of the Georgia Environmental Protection Division Outreach Program.
Georgia's 70,150 miles of streams and rivers need your help. Our waterways provide us with fresh drinking water, great recreational opportunities like canoeing and fishing, and they serve as a pleasant respite from our busy day to day lives. This is your opportunity to help protect one of our most precious resources. Help us clean our rivers, streams, lakes and wetlands by joining in support of Rivers Alive." Home Visits; A Great Activity for Your Student, No Matter Their Grade Level!
Here is some feedback from our parents:
- “Early in the school year, a group of teachers took the time to come to our home to meet us and discuss the school program with us. That event brought us back to the time in which schooling was a true partnership between parent and teacher and reaffirmed in our minds that FSA truly cares about the development of our children”
- “We even had two teachers visit us at our home. They were a pleasure to meet and we could clearly see how much they enjoy teaching students.”
- “Thank you very much for your visit and the chocolates yesterday. We enjoyed having you over very much. I also want to thank you for turning math from the most complicated and somewhat scary subject into one of our most favorites.”
- “We all enjoyed your visit last night to our home. It was such a pleasure to informally get to know both of you. My son thought it was really cool that two teachers came to his house. He talked about it the whole way to school this morning in carpool. Personally, I admire the dedication you both have for your jobs. It makes a big difference in a student’s attitude toward school. Your visit left no doubt in my mind that FSA was the right decision for my son.”
- “I just wanted to write on behalf of my husband and I and thank you for visiting our child. He loved having you both come and visit. We appreciate the level of caring and attention that you have consistently shown our family. It is rare to see such a dedication from teachers for their jobs. We can tell that you love teaching and you care for our children. Thank you for visiting our child when he was not feeling well.”
How can I schedule a home visit?
Very simple.
To schedule an elementary school home visit: Simply email junal@fultonscienceacademy.org with some suggested dates/times, as well as your students' name(s) and homeroom assignments. Ms. Unal will be in touch to confirm final details.
To schedule a middle or high school school home visit: Simply email sduman@fultonscienceacademy.org with some suggested dates/times, as well as your students' name(s) and homeroom assignments. Mr. Duman will be in touch to confirm final details.
Depending on our teacher’s availability, at least two teachers will be together to visit our students and parents at their homes. The best times to schedule a home visit are weekdays after 5:00 pm, and anytime during the weekends, except Sunday mornings. For any questions you have about this program, send an e-mail to homevisit@fultonscienceacademy.org
