Season of Service
2014
The gospel on display during Holy Week!
This week we celebrate a Christ who "emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross." (Phil. 2:7-8, ESV) This week hundreds of students from the Sacramento region are giving up their spring breaks to love the hurting both in our communities and abroad. Service projects are happening all across our region as we honor and imitate our servant king. How will you serve this week to display the gospel of our Savior who was willing to die for the salvation of the world?
Stories of Service: Safehaven Serve Day
On Sunday, March 30th, eight adults and eight children from three churches participated with Serve Partnerships Unlimited, Socks from the Heart to the Homeless, and Fellowship Chamber in an event called Safehaven Serve Day. The event began with participation in a church service led by Safehaven, a ministry that serves he homeless in the downtown area. After the service, participants distributed about 150 pairs of socks that were donated by Bombas Socks, a company that donates a pair of socks to the needy from each pair they sell. Bombas Socks recently made a donation of 4,000 pairs of socks to Matthew, a boy who began Socks from the Heart to the Homeless. Serve Sacramento is honored to share this beautiful story of love towards those experiencing homelessness. If you would like to purchase a pair of socks and have Bombas donate a pair to Socks from the Heart to the Homeless, click here and add HELPMATTHEW into the promo code!

A pick up truck or a vehicle that can tow a Love INC trailer is helpful but not mandatory. Visit the Love INC website here for more info and to sign up!
