A little about Colmar
Colmar is located in the Alsace region in North-Eastern France. The town is located on the Alsatian Wine route, hence naming itself the "capital of Alsatian wine". Colmar was founded in the 9th century, and was granted status "free imperial city" by Frederick II in 1226. During the "Thirty Years' War", it was taken by the Swedish army in 1632, who held it for two years. This gorgeous area is known for its historic landmarks and memorable wine.

Colmar is home to breathtaking religious architectural landmarks from the eight centuries of Germanic and French architecture. One such as Église Saint-Martin, which is the largest church in Colmar. It contains some of the earliest stain windows, Gothic and renaissance sculptures and altars, and a grand Baroque organ case. Musée des usines municipales is an industrial and technological museum in a former factory, dedicated to the history of everyday technology.

Transportation
The train station Gare de Colmar offers transportation to Strasbourg, Mulhouse, Besançon, and Zürich. Colmar was also once linked to Freiburg im Breisgau, in Germany and on the other side of the Rhine, by the Freiburg–Colmar international railway.
