The capital of Alsatian wine

A little about Colmar

Colmar is located in the Alsace region in North-Eastern France. The town is located on the Alsatian Wine route, hence naming itself the "capital of Alsatian wine". Colmar was founded in the 9th century, and was granted status "free imperial city" by Frederick II in 1226. During the "Thirty Years' War", it was taken by the Swedish army in 1632, who held it for two years. This gorgeous area is known for its historic landmarks and memorable wine.
