It's another beautiful day at Farmington High School

April 14 – April 21
Here are a few things you need to know as we get ready for next week:
ASPIRE TEST DAY - APRIL18th
On April 18th all Sophomores will be taking the ASPIRE+ test. This test does not just measure academic growth, but is a practice ACT test and will give students the experience of what the ACT will be like next year. Testing will begin at 7:30 with buses running on their normal schedule. Juniors and Seniors will not attend that day. Please do all you can do have your Sophomore student here on April 18th for a great testing experience.
PROM - APRIL 22nd
Next week is Prom Week! We start the week off with a Prom assembly on Monday during MAPS.
Prom will take place on Saturday, April 22nd from 8:00-10:00 p.m. at the Snowbasin Ski Resort. Gondola rides are included in the ticket price. The first gondola leaves at 6:00 and the last one leaves the top at 7:45. Please drive carefully!
Tickets can be purchased for $25 per couple in advanced on myDSD, in the office, or students can check in at the door and have their student account charged.
DISTRICT HONORS MILITARY FAMILIES WITH PURPLE UP! ACTIVITIES
As you visit schools in the Davis School District during the month of April, you might notice purple ribbons tied to the trees.
Davis School District schools are joining military communities across the nation to celebrate Month of the Military Kid. Also known as Purple Up!, this is a time designated by the Department of Defense to recognize military families and their children for their daily sacrifices and the unique challenges they overcome.
The district encourages all students, teachers and staff to wear purple every Friday in April. Be sure to tag the district in your pictures or send them to news@dsdmail.net!
GREAT UTAH SHAKEOUT - APRIL 20th
On Thursday April 20th, FHS will participate in the Great Utah Shakeout. This is an emergency drill that will allow students and staff to practice what to do to stay safe in the event of an earthquake. The drill should last only a few minutes but will require students to “Drop, cover, and hold” under a table or desk. There will also be simulated earthquake noises during the drill. We hope this and other drills like it will help keep our students as safe as possible in any event.
For more information about the Great Utah Shakeout, please visit this link.
SENIOR END-OF-YEAR INFORMATION
Seniors and Parents should have received an email with information about graduation and activities and events for the remainder of the school year. This letter can also be found at this link or on the FHS homepage. Please carefully review the information found in the letter as it contains important information about preparing for and participating in graduation.
Important information about preparing for graduation will also be provided in MAPS classes. Please encourage your seniors to attend MAPS class for the rest of the year so they don't miss out on this important info!
ASVAB RESULTS
For those who participated in the ASVAB, the results have come in and are available for pick up in the Counseling Center. There will also be an important interpretation session offered at FHS on Wednesday, April 26 at 8am (late start). It will be held in room 2804 and parents are invited. Should last 45 min to an hour.
