Important Summer Dates
Dates for Summer Break and 19-20 School Year
Important Summer and Beginning of the Year Information
Summer Break has started! Our goal is to get all of the pertinent dates out to you to prepare for the 19-20 school year. We hope our students enjoy their well deserved break and look forward to welcoming your family back in August!
- June 12th - PISD will have Spring STAAR scores available to view online. See instructions below for more information.
- July 24th - Parent's MUST log in to the parent portal to complete annual forms and verify the emergency card is up to date. This must be done by August 5, 2019 in order to find out who your child's new teacher will be for the 19-20 school year. If you don't know your child's ID number, email rebeca.garcia@pisd.edu and she will send it to you. Directions for parent portal are below.
- July 24th and July 25th - Have a new student you have not registered? These are the district assigned days to register your student without an appointment. Registration is open between 9-11 and 1-3. If you cannot come July 24th or July 25th, you will need to make an appointment via email at rebeca.garcia@pisd.edu. Incoming PK student registration information can be found below.
- August 6th - If you logged on to parent portal, you will receive an email from their new teacher on Tuesday, August 6th. I know most students can't wait to find out who their new teacher will be!
- August 9th - Meet the Teacher. This event is Friday, August 9th at 7:30 am - 8:30 am. It is a come and go event. Class lists will be posted to help you find your child's classroom. If your student will have medication in the clinic, make plans to drop off said medication on August 9 while you're here.
- August 12th - First Day of School! School starts on Monday, August 12th! Doors open as early as 7:00 a.m. to drop students. Parents may walk their students to their new classrooms on the first day only without signing in at the front office. Starting day two, students will be asked to walk to class on their own. There will be plenty of adults in the halls on the second day of school and throughout the week to help students get to their classroom.
- First Week of School-Please no visitors for lunch. We want students to get accustomed to their new routine and avoid any recurring separation anxiety.
