School to Parent Connection
February 2024
A Message from Superintendent Jeremy Lewis
Hello, Rebels! I hope everyone is doing well. Over the last few weeks, we have dealt with a round of winter weather that kept us out of school for an extended period. The forecast looks good for the next several days, and I know everyone is happy for school to be back in session. To date, we have seven days of school to make up. We will make up one day on February 19 and one day on March 15 and add the rest to the end of school. This could be more if we have to miss additional days for inclement weather…I hope not! Because of the missed days, the third quarter grading period will be adjusted and will now end on March 8.
We are currently working on a district calendar for the 2024-25 school year, and we are asking for your input on a particular item. Please take the time to fill out this one-question survey.
Teachers and students are working very hard in the classroom on essential skills that are necessary for student growth and achievement. It is important that students practice these skills at home and that parents and caregivers encourage them in their endeavors. Spring assessments are quickly approaching, and we can waste no time ensuring our students are prepared. Please let your student’s building principals or teachers know if you have any questions. They will be happy to answer any questions that you may have. More information will be coming from your student’s teachers and building shortly.
Thank you for your continued support of Highland students and the Highland School District. Have a great week, and Go Rebels!
