A Message from our Student Assistance Counselor and Anti-Bullying Specialist, Ms. Martino
This is a challenging time but we do have ways to cope with the challenges.
Some ideas…
Social media is a double-edged sword. Social media outlets provide access to lot of important information – but may also give us misinformation as well. Make sure your information is coming from reliable medical sources, such as the CDC/Center for Disease Control. Then take a break from this information overload and try to focus on doing things that will help you to stay positive, things you enjoy.
Take care of yourself, physically and mentally: meditation, mindful breathing, exercise, getting a good night’s sleep, a walk outside or listening to music, just to name a few.
Stay connected to family and friends through phone calls, texts, email and video chats.
Reach out for support if you reach the point where anxiety is preventing you from doing the everyday things you need to do. Check out the Guidance and Counseling page on the District website for additional information.
Grandparents Day
National Grandparents Day was earlier this month and we would like to invite you to celebrate your grandparents, your great-grandparents, your step-grandparents, and all of the older people in your life who have brought you love and life. Whether they are near or far, whether we are able to speak and be with them, or not, we can all have gratitude for the ways that our grandparents and elders have helped us. It's a great time to feel thankful for them. Thank you for everything you've done for us! It's GRAND!
World Smile Day- Friday, October 2nd
In celebration of World Smile Day, what is one act of kindness that you can do for someone?
How can you bring a smile to someone's face?
