Pfaff Empowering Parents ~ Monthly Newsletter

AT HOME SPECIAL EDITION # 1

Message From the Principal: Dr. Orathia Bradley

Good afternoon, Pfaff Families,

Amid the COVID-19 crisis, I hope that you and your family are in good health and making the most out of the unprecedented family time. I am sending this edition of the Pep Rally as a check-in with you. Things are changing daily, and there's always something new to learn. For instance, we recently learned that PDE has canceled the PSSA testing for this year. I imagine you are getting flooded with news media about the Corona Virus and more, so I won't flood your email with lots of emails; rather, I will send you a PEP RALLY newsletter periodically to keep our Pfaff family connected and informed.

As you know, Dr. Harner has been diligently communicating with families as a whole through his blog, so I encourage you to read his blog messages thoroughly as they are an excellent resource for information. In his 3/20/20 blog that came out yesterday, Dr. Harner informed us that we can expect to return to school sometime after March 29th. All we can do at this point is wait to hear more from our leaders what we will happen next. Thank you for doing your part in making the best out of a very difficult situation. We are grateful for your support during this crisis.

I've been hearing about the wonderful things that students and families are doing to make the best out of the time at home! It is great to hear that many teachers have voluntarily reached out to their students to help them use this time to find fun ways to learn and stay academically active. Kudos to you, awesome parents and guardians, for making this time at home a productive time for children! If you have ideas that you'd like to share, please don't hesitate to contact me at obradley@qcsd.org so I can post them in an upcoming edition of the PEP RALLY.

Even though we cannot come together physically and are (and should be) practicing SOCIAL DISTANCING - our QCSD and the Quakertown community have really come together to support the needs of our families during this pandemic. FUN WITH WORDS...

This list of tongue twisters for kids makes for great literacy activities and line practice. Short tongue Twisters are not only for linguistic fun and games; they serve a practical purpose in practicing pronunciation.
