Last Week of 4K Virtual Instruction
Given the uncertainty of what the coming months will look like, administration is preparing for a variety of school scenarios that allow us to keep our highest priorities front and center. Planning early gives us the ability to adjust as things change and we receive more answers and guidance from both national and local authorities. We appreciate your patience and we will continue to communicate with you throughout the summer.
Enjoy a safe and healthy Summer- Erin, Sara Jane and all the SASD 4K and EC staff
The National Center Pyramid Model Innovations
NCPMI has developed several products to help us guide families during stay at home restrictions. We hope that some of these resources can help children who are feeling anxious or are having difficulty regulating strong emotions. Check out some new resources in the NCPMI Resource Library.
SUMMER EXCEL 2020
As you know, the Summer EXCEL administrative team has decided to cancel the upcoming summer school programming, scheduled to run June 15 - July 10. We sent out a survey last week to gauge family interest in providing remote summer instruction, and we thank you for your responses. The survey indicated that the majority of our families would not be likely to sign up for remote instruction so we will not be providing summer remote instruction.
While remote instruction will not occur, SASD places a strong value on school and family connections, and a team has been working to develop summer enrichment resources that families can use to encourage connection and engagement even as we are away from one another. You can access these resources on each school website, as well as the Summer Excel website. The offerings will change each month over the summer and are appropriate for students entering grades K-8. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Director of Curriculum & Instruction Kate Ahlgren (Kate.Ahlgren@Stoughton.k12.wi.us) or Summer Excel Principal Chris Smith (Chris.Smith@Stoughton.k12.wi.us).
