Congratulations to Alexez Gonzalez

Alexez was our honored recipient for the free computer give-away from TCOE. Congratulations!

Congratulations to our Music Program!

Last night our Music program hosted their annual fundraiser at the Memorial Building. This year it was a lovely dessert bar. It was a packed house with many students, staff, and parents supporting our program. The band and choir student put on a wonderful performance. A big shout out to Nora, Kirk, and their Boosters for planning such an awesome event. I went home with lots of goodies from the silent auction.

SBAC Spirt Planning

We have two meetings scheduled to plan for SBAC spirit-building. A team of us will be meeting on the next two Friday's after school. Anyone is welcome to join. We want to plan for fun activities and an assembly that will help build student enthusiasm around the test. I will also be sending you a link to get you input so that the team has a wealth of ideas to look at.

Welcome Back Rodney!

I want to welcome back Rodney to the Wilson Middle School staff. Rodney will be taking over one of our night custodian positions.

JAG mural

Our spring JAG program is preparing to start. Tori Davis will continue to work with the 10 at-risk students who she worked with in the Fall, and she will be adding some new students to the program. I'm excited to announce that one of the projects the JAG students will be engaged in this spring will be a Wilson mural that will be located on the east end of the 200 wing. Planning and preparations are under way, so be looking for some new artwork to show up on campus

Choices Mentoring

Last week we had 3 students ( Delia Carrillo, Kylee Blackwell, and Hailey Phariss) who visited the TCOE choices office to conduct an interview with KSEE 24 and will be featured in their daily special of “Character Counts”. This broadcast was aired Tuesday, January 26th at 3pm and 5pm. The students participated in the High School Mentor program with Exeter Union High School last year. High School students visited our campus weekly to mentor choice students. It was a great experience and I want to thank everyone for allowing us to attend. Will we continue with the Mentor program this year as well.

Below is the link from the interview with KSEE 24. Enjoy! J
