Students are working on an article this week about how playing video games can help their brain power. I debated choosing this article for the students because the arguments for and against video games were not very strong. I decided that I will use that as a lesson when we get to our argumentative writing. Sorry to any parents whose children use these facts to back up why they should keep playing video games instead of doing homework or cleaning their room. However, I would be surprised if they remembered any details about the facts.
Reading Challenge
Hour 1- 1,004
Hour 2- 4,266
Hour 3- 1,613
Hour 6- 3,108
I had to figure out another way to display all of the pages that the students are reading. I decided to extend the a line around the room. Each half of a wall equals 5,000 pages. This way we should be able to fit 40,000 pages around the room. This challenge will last until the end of the year. I want to see if the students can do it. Please encourage your child to continue reading at home. Any pages count- magazine, newspaper, and reading a children's book to a younger sibling.
Happy Valentine's Day
