Week of June 10, 2019
Report Cards
Report cards were sent home last week mostly on Thursday, some still on Friday. So if you have not seen your student’s report card, please ask your student. You can also see the final grades on PowerSchool.
A few of you have asked about Honor Roll certificates. Because grades were still being finalized until the end of last week, it wasn’t feasible to create them and get them out to students.
Kennedy Gives Out Chromebooks At Graduation
Congratulations again, to the Class of 2019. For those who were not in attendance, we are excited to announce that each Kennedy 8th grader left prepared for high school with a Chromebook.
Summer Music Camp
If you haven’t been following us on Facebook, Mrs. Marinos has been posting all sorts of pictures and reminders each week, including pictures from graduation this past Friday.

Summer Slide
We are excited for students to have a chance to enjoy their summer and be a playful kid. However, as many of you know, there is a big “summer slide” that can happen that holds students back academically when they return because they haven’t read or done any math over the summer. So we encourage kids to read for pleasure this summer, even if it is lighter reading like comic books and/or graphic novels. Here are some resources below that Mrs. Leonardo sent out to her families that I am sharing with everyone. Thanks, Mrs. Leonardo. Also, students will still have access this summer to their DreamBox account, so they could do a little math each week. Khan Academy is another free, online option.
Preventing Summer Slide
Here are three videos I'm recommending you watch with your student.
