This Is How We Lakeview

June 2021 Edition: Volume 2

2021-22 School Year Updates

We have some more details on the start of school for everyone to put in their calendars, so please read through and make note of those.

One change this year, if you have an 8th grade student, is that all students will have access to a locker. Students will be able to go to their locker before school, during lunch/E&I, and after school. Students will still be allowed to carry a backpack to class.

If you need anything, we are here all summer from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm. The office will be closed on July 5th in observance of Independence Day. You can also email myself,, Ben Baptist (Lead Assistant Principal), or Susan Raber (Building Secretary) if you have any questions.

We will see you the first day of school on August 16th!

Pickerington Schools ARP ESSER Plan: Stakeholder Engagement and Feedback Opportunities

The Pickerington School District has posted its ARP ESSER plan . This web page also describes the extent to which the District's plan includes, or can be modified to include policies and strategies to address.

One Important Piece of this plan is as follows:

For the 2021-2022 school year, the District will allow parents to make the optional choice for their students to wear masks, and we do not anticipate requiring them unless the Governor’s orders, or additional orders from the Department of Health, require us to do so. We also know that physical distancing of 6 feet or more is not possible with fully in-person instruction. But we will still encourage and use our protocols for frequent hand-washing, cleaning and maintaining healthy facilities, and other mitigation protocols.

The page also includes information on how the District proposes to expend its funds over the next 3-4 school years.

The District encourages interested stakeholders to provide input and feedback on any part of the plan by sending an email to the following email address:

Please remember to include pertinent contact information (phone number, address, etc.) in the email so that the District can contact you if we require additional information or have questions. Thank you!

Please pay your student's school fees

All student fees can be made online through Infinite Campus. Please click here to log in to Infinite Campus. If you are having issues or do not know your Infinite Campus login, please fill out a Help Desk ticket.

Remember that there is an immunization requirement for 7th graders. Tdap and Meningococcal are required before a student enters the junior high. The Ohio Department of Health provides the attached immunization summary for school attendance in Ohio. Please discuss this with your medical provider.

According to Board Policy 5320 and 5320 AG, immunizations in compliance with state law and the Ohio Department of Health are required for each student unless the parent(s) file an objection. The Board of Education also requires tuberculosis examinations in compliance with law.

Students new to Pickerington Schools must present written evidence of similar immunizations, or written evidence to indicate that they are in the process of receiving immunizations, to be completed no later than the day of entrance. Students failing to complete immunizations within 14 days after entering are not permitted to return to school.

The Franklin County Health Department offers immunization clinics throughout the school year. An up-to-date schedule is always available on the Franklin County Public Health website.

Immunization records can be dropped off at the school all summer. You do not have to wait until August to drop these off. Our office hours are 8:00 am - 2:00 pm.

We know that some of you like to take advantage of the early Back to School Sales and have been waiting for supply lists. We are recommending that students carry a minimal amount of supplies.
