Delran Students Win at Coriell Fair
In its 37th year, all four students from Delran win big!
March 17, 2018, Camden County College Hosts the 37th Annual Coriell Science Fair, including Delran's finest middle school and high school submissions
This regional science fair hosts home, private and public school fair entrants to compete in team and individual projects including the areas of: Behavioral and Social Science, Botany, Computer Science, Earth and Space Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Consumer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Environmental Sciences, Microbiology, Medicine and Health, Physics and Zoology. Students who are awarded 1st or 2nd Place earn a spot at the Tri-State Delaware Valley Science Fair, April 3rd-5th. This year, Delran is proud that all four entrants to the fair won a spot to attend Del Val!
Jackson Weber- 1st Place in Middle School Behavioral Science
In his project, “They Won’t Stick”, Jackson earned first prize and also this year’s Michael B. Christman, PH.D. Best Life Science Award, in honor of Coriell’s former President& Chief Executive’s entrepreneurial spirit in personalized medicine and life science. Jackson is eligible to compete at the Del Val Fair in April.
Saakhi Ray- 1st Place Middle School Biochemistry
In her project, “Bioluminescence of Algae”. her science knowledge shown through! Saakhi is pictured with her Mother. Saakhi is eligible to compete in this year’s Del Val Science Fair. We wish her luck!
Alexis Wachter- 2nd Place in Physics
Alexis’s project entitled “What Surface Makes a Basketball Bounce Higher”, her ability to transfer her knowledge to the judges, as a sixth grader, was impecible. Congratulations on making it to Del Val, Alexis!
Justin Ma- 1st Place in High School Chemistry
Justin won 1st place for both the high school and Coriell Fair in the 9th/10th competition in Coriell today. Justin's project entitled "Properties of Alum and Metal", wins him a spot at the Delaware Valley Science Competition in April. Justin is picutred with Delran High School Science Fair Advisor, Kim Brewster.
Delran Township Schools STEM Programming Continues to Grow
Through the Delran STEM Ecosystem, STEM Fair coming on April 23rd at DHS from 5:30-7:00pm, and the Delran Cubs STEAM Up Summer Camp and Delran STEAM Academy, Delran Township Schools continues to build a culture and tradition of programmingn in and out of school time to enhance the education of our 3,100 students.
