Christopher Columbus

Columbus was an Italian man whom sailed for Spain. He sailed across the Atlantic ocean in 1492, hoping to find a route to India. He made a total of 4 trips during the years 1492-1504. He discovered the Caribbean Islands on one of these 4 voyages. One of his major feats is that he discovered the Americas. A major accomplishment of his was him making the first connection between Europe and the "New World". Some of his character traits include: Courage, Faith, Persistence, Leadership and Optimism. Some of his voyage purposes were to have a higher status, socially, and to become rich and famous. Voyage outcome: During his 4th voyage, he connected Europe and the Americas. He struck the coast of Honduras in Central America and coasted southward along an inhospitable shore, suffering terrible hardships. He had to leave many people behind in order to return.
