What's Happening at Stuart Mesa?

This is our weekly parent newsletter where we share the events, opportunities, and amazing things our school is doing.

Congratulations Middle School Music Students!

This weekend, our middle school music students from all three base schools performed for professional music judges. The band received an "Excellent" (second-highest rating) and received a "Superior" (highest rating) on "sight-reading". In "Sight-Reading", students have 4 minutes to learn a new piece of music. Students have been working since January on their pieces. They even had after school rehearsals on Wednesday and a Saturday morning practice. Way to go!

Read Across America in Review

This week, our students participated in literacy events and dress-up days promoting reading in and out of the classroom. Here are a few pictures of our students on Wacky Wednesday. CLICK this link.

PTO Sponsored Book Fair This Week

Please join us for the Spring Book Fair Monday, March 9th through Friday, March 13th. We will be open 7:45 am and close at 4 pm on Mon, Tues, Thur, Fri and at 1:30 pm Wednesday. We will also be open during our Food Truck Night on Friday, March 13th from 5-7 pm. Join us for dinner and visit the book fair in the library. Cash and cards are accepted.

California Healthy Kids Survey

March 9th -13th, our 5th and 7th grade students will join other students across California taking part in the California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) sponsored by the California Department of Education. The survey is both voluntary and anonymous. Parents are invited to take the survey during the same week. You can access the parent survey on our school's website beginning Monday, Mar. 9th. St. Patrick's Day Grams for Sale

St. Patrick's Day grams will be sold for $1.00 all week at lunch and after school. They will be delivered next Tuesday, March 17th!

SSC: School Site Council Meeting

Our Stuart Mesa School Site Council will be meeting Monday, March 9th from 3:00-4:00 PM in our library. Click here for the Agenda. This meeting is open to the public. Our next meeting will be held on April 13th at 3:00 PM. The Agenda will be posted in the school office 72 hours prior to the meeting.

LCAP Meeting & Survey Coming Soon!

The LCAP is a three-year plan that describes the goals, actions, services, and expenditures to support positive student outcomes that address state and local priorities. Parents of all schools are invited to an LCAP information meeting at their school where will stakeholders meet to provide the district feedback. Your feedback helps guide our district. Stuart Mesa will be meeting Monday, March 16 at 8:00 AM in the Library. We will also have an evening parent outreach on Thursday, March 19th at 5:30 PM. In addition, there is an online Parent LCAP Survey which will be available this week.

Bike Helmet Update

Thank you Parents! We now have almost all our students wearing their helmets to and from school. We will continue to monitor to ensure our students' safety.
