Effective Communication
A potential barrier in effective communication is lack body language or concertation when you are telling someone a message, this can lead to the person you are trying to talk to not listening or understanding what you are trying to say. Way to improve this is by engaging with the person you are talking to so they feel a part of what you are trying to say to them, Explain in a certain manner they feel more eager to listen to you, Show gestures and correct body language to the person so they will understand what message you are getting across.
General Communication
A potential barrier in general communication is cultural barrier could get in the way of trying to communicate with the person you are talking to, as they might not understand what message you are trying to get across. Ways to improve on this is by learning the culture background so no offensive gestures or language is used towards them, talk slowly and clearly making sure they know what you are saying. If they have any question regarding what you are saying try explaining the message again in a different manner or context.
Interpersonal Communication
A potential barrier in Interpersonal communication is emotional barrier could get in the way of trying to talk to the customer/client you are talking too as they could be upset or stressed over the thing you are telling the person or dealing with personal issues, there are many ways to tell if someone is emotional, body language are one of these, they might be crying or distant to what you are trying to say to them. Way to improve communication with this person is by asking them what’s wrong with them and offer support and comfort for whatever situation they are struggling with, speak clear and use simple language they will understand while emotional.
Written Communication
A potential barrier in written communication is spelling errors and mistakes in sentencing as they might not understand what they are writing and what message they are trying to get across. Ways to help and improve on this is to proofread what they have written and help them with any spelling mistakes and punctuality they have made. Make sure the layout and content of the written message is laid out in the correct order.
