Permenter Longhorn Check-In
Week of February 20 - February 24, 2023
A Note from the Principal:
It has been exciting to witness the positive energy and intentional thought that is going into our campus' upcoming Black History Program rescheduled for February 28th. The staff has shared with me that prior to Covid, this was always such an elaborate and well attended event. They are thrilled to be able to bring it back and I am overjoyed to support their efforts and witness the greatness that is to come. Additionally, our team was adamant about celebrating Black History Month beyond the evening of the program and wanted to be sure to have themed attire days that honored the culture and allow our students to participate as well.
As we honor Black History Month and the many contributions and sacrifices of the Black community, let us be mindful of the legacy we are creating. This begins with our children. Like you, we want all of our students to be aware that they are creating a legacy through small daily actions and activities. It isn't always the grand gestures that set us up for failure or success, but rather those little moments that have huge impact. Please partner with us by speaking to your students about impact, positive focus and future potential. Sometimes the one who has the loudest voice is the one strong enough to walk silently away from conflict and towards a better choice centered on something positive like getting to class on time with all learning materials in tact. Wouldn't it be a great way to end the last few days of Black History Month with no fights, increased achievement on our Interim STAAR tests, and perfect school attendance?
A few reminders and announcements:

A Note from CHHS Athletics:
Dear Scholars and Parents:
We want to ensure all scholars have the opportunity to take part in all events across the district. To ensure scholars are admitted into all athletic events at Cedar Hill High School, all scholars must present a non-torn digital ticket and their current school ID at the student gate. Additionally, all elementary and middle school scholars must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian throughout the entirety of the game. These scholars will enter through the general admission gate. All scholars are welcome to attend and we hope they come to support all of our Longhorn scholar athletes!
