TGMS Weekly Update
April 27, 2020
Message from Mrs. Jackson
As I am sure that you have probably heard by now, Governor DeWine has closed all school buildings for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year. Remote learning will continue for all Ohio school districts for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. While this saddens us greatly, teachers will continue to post assignments in Google Classroom until May 22.
We will have a TGMS pick up of student items that are at the building. In order to allow for the best traffic flow, the pick up dates are scheduled by grade level with May 5 offered as an evening option for those families who may be working.
April 30 Grades 4 and 5 9:00 - 11:00 am
May 1 Grade 6 9:00 - 11:00 am
May 5 All who have not picked up 5:00 - 7:00 pm
At this this time families will be able to pick up their locker items, art projects, student work, and close out the 2019-2020 school year, It is imperative that we practice social distancing protocols. For the safety of our students, parents, and staff, please remain in your cars for the TGMS Pick Up Parade. More details about this event are in this newsletter.
TGMS Pick Up Parade
Please note this important addendum to the TGMS Pick Up Parade.
Due to the need for social distancing the district is asking that only families who have items to be picked up should attend.
Thank you for respecting these guidelines.
As we close the building for the current school year, we are making preparations for families to pick up any personal belongings they may still have at school, return library books, and classroom or teacher materials. Student artwork will be available during the TGMS Pick Up along with 5th grade lock-in T-shirts if one was ordered.
In order to make this process go as smoothly as possible, student belongings will be pre-bagged and labeled with the student name, by homeroom. Drive thru pick-up lanes will be set up in the back of the school. There will be no entry into the school buildings.
We will offer one evening pick up time for parents who are not available due to work schedules. To allow for traffic flow pick up dates will be by grade level.
Pick up dates:
Grades 4 and 5
April 30 9:00 - 11:00 am
Grade 6 May 1
9:00 - 11:00 am
May 5 any who have not picked up 5:00 - 7:00 pm
**Please note any items remaining will be disposed of at the end of the last pick up time.
The safety of our students, families and school community are our highest priority.
Please respect social distancing and follow these simple steps:
❖ Stay in your car
❖ Post a sign with your student’s name clearly visible in the car window
■ Stop first at the Medication Pick-up table if you have student meds to be picked up
■ Drop off Library books
■ If students are returning classroom supplies or teacher materials they should be dropped off at the Homeroom tables
❖ Follow the checkpoints to your child’s homeroom lane - bags will be loaded for you
❖ Student artwork will be available to pick up
❖ Lost and Found tables will be set-up at the far end if you need to look for any missing belongings
❖ At this time students will keep their band instruments
Our heartfelt best wishes go out to our students and families
to be safe and healthy!
