From the Principal’s Desk

Good afternoon Shiloh Families,

We are continuing a successful administration of our Milestones testing. I ask students each day how they feel they have performed and they are responding that they believe they were proficient or distinguished! It warms my heart to see their confidence and to hear them use the academic language of proficient/distinguished. I am so excited about the great things that are happening at Shiloh!

Additionally, I must recognize the accomplishment of our track team. Last Saturday, our boys and girls competed for the state championship. Our girls are officially STATE CHAMPIONS!! Our boys were tenacious and represented Shiloh extremely well and I am proud of all of our students.

Parents, thank you for your continued support. We could not continue to model excellence without you.

Your Proud Principal,

Dr. Williams

Georgia Milestones

The Georgia Milestones Assessment System (GMAS) will begin April 9, 2019. This year the GMAS will be taken completely online. For this reason, testing days will be spread out over several weeks. The schedule is as follows:

April 29-30 8th grade Math EOG/EOC

May 6 8th grade Science EOG/EOC

Please try your best to plan appointments around this schedule. Students can begin practicing by clicking here. They should go to Online Tools Training then EOC/EOG Test Practice. Parents are encouraged to take a look at the Assessment Guide for the appropriate grade.

Cafeteria Charges

The last day to charge breakfast and lunch will be April 30. Students must pay reduced or full amount after that date. If your child has a balance, please begin making payments to their account.

Gwinnett County Public Library

The local library is a great resource for a variety of things. In addition to offering the typical resources for reading and research, the library offers numerous workshops that students and parents can participate in. Take a look a the April brochures linked below to see if you find something that is interesting to you and your student.

Relay for Life

Historically, Gwinnett County has the biggest Relay for Life event in the country. This is a charitable event to raise funding for the American Cancer Society. The big event is May 10th and involves thousands of people and to put it simple is a lot of fun. We are looking for team members to help Shiloh make an impact in the great effort. Please let us know if you would like to join the fun. Also let us know if you are a cancer survivor.
