Welcome Back ... Back to our PACK!

It has been a great start to a new school year! We are all about being Positive, Accountable, Courageous, and Kind ... we are part of a wonderful PACK that includes each of our student's individual talents to make it stronger.

The beginning of every month, we will email a monthly newsletter and post it as our top story on the website for easy access. It contains important information for busy families to be aware of school happenings.

Intramurals

We will build a year-long calendar so students and parents can look forward to activities and sports and plan accordingly. We announce each intramural activity as they come along for several days leading up the activity and you can always find information on our school website under the intramurals tab. It has been fun to involve the students this way ... after all, it is all about them! We will keep you posted - stay tuned.

Canvas - Our online learning platform

Canvas is the online learning platform that students use staring in middle school ... and lasting all the way through junior high, high school, and college (all state-run Utah colleges/universities use Canvas and many departments at BYU and Westminster). In elementary school, teachers and students used Google classroom. Canvas is similar to Google Classroom and students will definitely feel similarities, but Canvas has many more features.

We spend a significant amount of time teaching our students how to log on and access Canvas, how to turn in assignments, and even how to take quizzes and assessments. Assignments in Canvas are graded and those grades transfer over to Infinite Campus. When students miss school, they should always check each class' Canvas page for class work so they don't get behind. (Remember, though, as good as Canvas is ... nothing replaces in-person learning, students will always benefit significantly more from being in class.

Many parents like to have an account to view their students canvas classes. With on parent account, each of your students will be accessible. Direction to set up a parent account can be found on our school website under general information or here for the direct link.

Not everything can or will be replicated in Canvas). Have your student show you around Canvas - it's worth a "tour"!

PEAK Award Nomination

Do you know someone in Nebo School District who really exhibits Positive Energy and Kindness? All nominations will be reviewed, and qualified candidates will be recognized at the Nebo School District Board meeting. (Keep nominations secret until announced.)
