2022 Retirement Luncheon

This afternoon, Shelby County Public School Retirees were celebrated with a luncheon catered by Poochy's Place at the Blair Center. Dr. Sugg, along with principals and co-workers, awarded these dedicated teachers, bus drivers, lunchroom workers, and SCPS staff who have dedicated their last years before retirement to our school systems’ families, staff, and students. Special shoutout to everyone who lent a helping hand and joined us in support of our loved and appreciated retirees. To this year's SCPS retirees, best of luck to you, and thank you for all you do, have done, and continue to do for SCPS.

MLCHS Artists

Mary Yeager of the Shelby Regional Arts Council offered a grant to commission a mural to be displayed downtown Shelbyville on 6th street for Shelby County Public School students to contribute. Recently, two of our very own MLCHS students were selected as the winner and runner up! Freshman Isabella Carrasco was selected as the runner up, receiving a very nice backpack full of art supplies as well as a plaque of her work and a certificate. Senior Sofia Cha was selected as the winner with her beautiful and vibrant mural that depicts many of the influences of our vibrant community. Sofia was recognized with a $100 cash prize, a plaque of her work, and a certificate; best of all, her work will be displayed in public for all to see! Congratulations, Isabella and Sofia.
