Ashley has done a great job of stepping up in the front office as Nadia has transitioned into her new role! She has also held down the fort while Jose has been out sick this week (welcome to elementary!). Ashley always has a smile on her face, and will help anyone with anything! We are so appreciative of you, Ashley!

CISD Leads: Future Leader Showcase
Thursday, August 31 - 4:30-6:30 p.m. - Jett Center
This opportunity is for anyone considering taking a career step into a leadership role or expanding the one they are already in. This includes those aspiring to be instructional coaches, counselors, fine arts specialists, assistant principals and principals, and special education leaders.
During this session, participants will have the opportunity to hear from our superintendent and his beliefs about what it means to be a leader. Following the opening session, participants will be able to hear from and ask questions of current practitioners in their area(s) of interest.

Counselor's Corner
For those interested in earning your maintenance GT Hours, Grand Oaks is hosting a GT Book Study for the entire Grand Oaks Feeder Zone.
The book is titled Differentiating for Gifted Learners. Once you have signed up for the Book Study, Gifted & Talented Programs will send you the book. We will meet on Zoom and follow the schedule listed below. Each meeting will have three session options, so you can choose the one that fits your schedule best. To receive credit, you will need to attend one session for each meeting.
Here is how the meetings run:
Teachers review the assigned section before the meeting
Each teacher shares out an idea they have tried in their classroom, or how they intend to implement it in the near future
Other relevant conversation, as needed
Each meeting* is under 30 minutes long and will be scheduled as follows:

Z in the Gradebook
Teams will need to discuss this and share with parents at Parent Information Night. Our suggestion would be to leave a blank in the gradebook and let parents know that it is a missing assignment.
