A TECHNOLOGY NEWSLETTER FOR THOMPSON FAMILIES
Just Dance Kids – YouTube.com or YouTube Kids App
Rainy day? Hot day? Have another reason your kiddos cannot get outside to release their energy? Go to www.youtube.com and search Just Dance Kids. There are a lot of really fun, age appropriate songs for them to dance along to and burn off that extra energy! Have a tablet? Checkout the YouTubeKids App for an even safer way to view these videos!
Teach Me Apps
Want games or Apps that are more geared towards learning? Want an App that will show you what your child IS doing with all of that technology time? For less than $1, you can have your child challenged to his or her level to learn new skills, reinforce skills already learned, and see the results in the parent screen. They earn rewards for correct answers and are motivated to continue learning. Choose from Teach Me Toddler, Teach Me Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, or bundle them together.
FunBrain
This free website allows your child to reinforce math, reading, and strategy.
PBS Kids – You thought it was just for toddlers? NAH!
This website offers free episodes of its educational programming such as Sesame Street, Wild Kratts, Arthur, Sid the Science Kid, and Curious George! While it does appeal to a younger audience by nature, you would be surprised to find how many of your older elementary children will enjoy it as well! There are also educational games to go along with the shows. What sets this site apart from most other learning sites is that it actually offers science content! WOOHOO! Most children LOVE science, but it is so difficult to find quality resources for games and programs for them. Enjoy!!
