The Six Gazette
Holiday Edition {November & December}
๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ท Dashing Through December ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ท
We are dashing through December and are super excited about the much needed holiday break! Students completed mid-year benchmark testing last week. This is going to help us determine how students are progressing thus far throughout the school year. It will also serve as a guide for us to better serve students when we return from the break. As we bid farewell to 2021, we want to really applaud our students for their hard work, dedication, and perseverance throughout the school year thus far.
Guardians Dojo ๐ฌ
The Guardians team have implemented a team store as a PBIS (positive behvaioral interventions & support) to encourage students to practice positive behaviors. Students accrue points based on their (positive) behaviors, and when the team store opens, they are able to use their points to redeem sweet rewards! During the most recent store opening, students purchased:
- Moutain Valley water from Hot Springs, Arkansas
- A bag of Quartz Crystals from Hot Springs, Arkansas
- A Neal Swag bag full of goodies donated by Dr. Fuga
- Lunch with the teacher from Grill 46, Chick Fila, or Dominoes
Ms. Harris' Moon Phase ๐๐๐
Student spent time learning about the phases of the moon. During the month of November, students were tasked with looking at the moon each night and were supposed to draw what they saw in their lab notebook. Pictured here, they are conducting a lab re-enacting the phases ๐๐ ๐ ๐.

November Habit Highlight Recipients
Each month we will look to highlight one habit (character trait). As a team, teachers have selected one student that they feel demonstrated that habit throughout the month. Our Habit Highlight for the month of November was GOOD JUDGEMENT: (considering the consequences of one's decision; thinking before acting or speaking, and having the tools to make good decisions in a variety of situations.). Congratulations to this month's recipients.

The AVENGERS team selected Juggleny for this month's habit highlight recipient. Juggleny is a hard working student who always thinks before she speaks and/or acts. She is always thinking about her grades and the consequences of her actions. She makes great decisions, completes all of her work, and fully participates in class.

๐๐ชFinishing Strong ๐๐ช
The holiday break will allow us all time to rest, relax, and recharge our batteries. When we return back from the holiday break, there will only be TWO WEEKS before the end of the quarter --- and 1st semester! Students will be challenged to FINISH the quarter STRONG, and work to make up (or complete) any assignments that they have not completed to this point. Gradebooks will be updated before we leave for break, and students will be provided with progress reports.
January Habit
Responsibility
The habit highlight for the month of January will be: RESPONSIBILITY. Responsibility is defined as: Being accountable for your own actions and choices (and their consequences) without blaming others. Teachers will be looking for students who show exemplars of responsibility throughout the month of January. Student recipients will be announced in our January edition of The Six Gazette.

Rosa-Linda
The Avengers nominated Rosa-Linda Ramirez because she is very comfortable in who she is as a person. She always has a bubbly personality and moves to the beat of her own drum, no matter what others think about it. She is always talking about the different things she likes. Drawing is one of her favorite things to do. One thing we admire most about her is even though she shows individuality, she always likes to spread kindness and get to know other students on our team she often finds to themselves. Keep being you Rosa-Linda and never lose your self-confidence
