This Week:
It's been so good to see all these smiling Kindergartners back at TCE this week! We have been reviewing routines and procedures as we get back into the hang of things.
Students reviewed color words and you should see some color songs coming home! We learned these awhile back and they've been in our book bins. So, once we are confident in them, we'll be bringing them home! We spent a lot of time practicing our sight words through games and hands-on activities like dry-erase boards and play dough.
We're working hard on reading and knowing that "I can read!" Students will begin bringing little readers home in our Book Bags next week!
We reviewed subtraction and shapes this week. We learned about Linus Minus, to help us remember that tricky minus sign in our math equations. We've had fun getting back into the routine of our reading stations and math tubs, by Thursday we were looking like all-stars!
Class Play
Your child will be bringing home information about our class play! This weekend I would love for you to look over the roles and discuss which role your child would like to have. They will get to choose their top 3 choices. When ranking, please choose a different animal/character. For example: There are 3 squirrels in the play, please avoid ranking them...
1. Squirrel 1
2. Squirrel 2
3. Squirrel 3
Instead, simply choose Squirrel as your child's top choice, then discuss other characters as their second and third. Thanks! :)
I will begin assigning roles next week!

100th Day Service Project!
Our 100th day of school is quickly approaching! Over the last several months at school we have focused on learning to be a good friend and being kind to others in our school family. To celebrate one hundred days of school we would like to commemorate this special day by doing something kind for our community. We will be collecting canned goods for local food pantries. Our goal as a grade level is to donate 100 canned foods in honor of 100 days of friendship in kindergarten at TCE. This activity is completely optional. Any student choosing to participate may bring in their canned goods anytime up until the 100th day.
Thank you for helping us to celebrate in this special way!
