St Elizabeth's News
NEWSLETTER | TERM 2 | WEEK 1 | 28 APRIL 2023

Rebecca Clarke | Principal
Dear parents and caregivers,
It was lovely to welcome back everyone to Term Two and to see all the smiling faces on Wednesday morning.
Term Two started with staff participating in a professional development day based around creating a ‘Vision for Learning’ for St Elizabeth’s. The process is a very reflective one with staff given an opportunity to gain an understanding of the core values and beliefs about learning at St Elizabeth’s. The aim of these days is to align teaching and learning across all year levels to ensure students are receiving a high level of education.
On Thursday, Mr Reberio and the Year Six students led us through a wonderful, reflective ANZAC Day service. All students from Kindergarten to Year Six attended with some of our students proudly wearing medals the belong to their family members to the service. It was lovely to have some parents and grandparents also joining us for the service. The Year Three class were thrilled to listen to one of our grandparents, Mr Haseldine, who spent time with them sharing his experiences of war and the importance of ANZAC Day for him. I would like to thank him for taking the time to be in the classroom.
Finally, a reminder as we enter the flu season, if your child is unwell, please keep them home until they are well enough for school. Unfortunately, Covid-19 is still in our school community and continues to impact us all in some way. If you require any RAT’s, please do not hesitate to collect some from the front office.
Have a lovely weekend enjoying the sunshine!
God bless
Rebecca Clarke
Principal

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
Congratulations to our Year Six students and Mr Reberio for preparing the heartfelt Anzac Day Service yesterday. The Year Six students lead the school by signing and singing the National Anthem. It is always great to see young students showing respect and reverence towards important events in history. Anzac Day is a day of remembrance for the sacrifices made by the Australian and New Zealand armed forces, and it’s important to keep the memory of those who served memories alive. All students from Kindy to Year Six should be commended for their behaviour and the respect they showed for the entire service, particularly the one minute of silence. Well done
