TEAM Academy COVID-19 Preparedness Plan Summer/Fall 2021
This plan will continue to be reviewed and changed as new guidelines come out over summer/fall 2021.
Masks: Masks are encouraged by any individual who is not vaccinated against COVID-19, but not required except for on school transportation vehicles (mandated by CDC).
Health Screening Process: If you're sick, stay home. All people entering TEAM Academy facilities are expected to perform a self-health screening prior to entering the building (screening for elementary children must be completed by an adult).
If you or your child has a fever 100.4 degrees or higher; new onset cough or a cough that gets worse; has difficulty/hard time breathing; new loss of taste or smell, you/ they will be required, per MDH decision tree, to test for COVID-19 or have an alternate diagnosis from a medical provider.
Isolation: If an individual tests positive for COVID-19, he/she must quarantine for 10 days during the infectious period.
Communication: Families are REQUIRED to report a positive case of COVID-19 to the director. Families will be notified of a positive COVID-19 case.
Attendance/Rosters: Daily attendance will be documented for each class/activity.
Contact Tracing: Families will be notified if their child has been exposed to a positive COVID-19 case.
Quarantine: In the event of an exposure, TEAM Academy encourages, but does not require, a quarantine period. The CDC recommends a 14-day quarantine period, with two other options: (1) 7-day quarantine period (test on day 5 or after) or (2) 10-day quarantine period without a test.
Household Contacts: Any person who lives in the same household as the person that tested positive is REQUIRED to quarantine. See quarantine information above for details.
Other Mitigation Strategies: TEAM Academy will also implement hand hygiene practices, cleaning and disinfecting protocols, and enhanced indoor air ventilation to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Vaccinations for School Age Students: Individuals age 12 and older are currently eligible for the Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. Community sites continue to offer vaccinations to students age 12 and up. The State of Minnesota Vaccine Locator tool allows searching by zip code, distance, age group, and more.
Student and Staff COVID-19 Testing: Minnesota and Vault Medical Services have teamed up to offer no-barrier, at-home COVID-19 saliva testing for everyone who lives in Minnesota, with or without symptoms. You can read more about this service on the Minnesota Department of Health website.
Students with disabilities: Appropriate accommodations will be made for students. The special education coordinator and case managers will consult with school staff.
Coordination with state and local health officials: TEAM Academy school staff will continue to collaborate with officials from the Waseca County Public Health and the Minnesota Department of Health.

Free Breakfast and Lunch for EVERY Student
We are pleased to announce that TEAM Academy will participate again in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for School Year 21-22. What does this mean for you and your children attending TEAM? All enrolled students of TEAM Academy are eligible to receive a healthy break-fast and lunch at school at no charge to your household. As parents, you can count on your child(ren) eating two healthy meals each day! If your child brings a lunch from home and needs a milk or wants to purchase a 2nd milk for their lunch it will cost them $0.50.
Free Healthy Snacks
TEAM Academy will once again have the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) this year. A fresh fruit or vegetable snack will be provided for students every day. Snacks will be served mid-morning. The main goal of the FFVP is to increase the fruit and vegetable consumption of elementary school children. In addition to providing fresh fruits and vegetables, another goal of this program is to provide nutrition education to the children. Please continue to talk with your children about the healthy choices they receive at school.
