OES has been experiencing a lot of positive cases of COVID. This year, we are notifying parents through Parent Square. Please make sure all of your information is current in FOCUS, which is the contact source for Parent Square. We also have some staff out for a variety of reasons, so please allow for extra time for teachers to respond.

We are continuing to work hard at school to mitigate risks of exposure. Please remind your child each day of your expectations for him/her to limit exposures, including reminding your child to use hand sanitizer frequently while they are at school. Also, please review the City of Cape Coral Charter Schools Authority COVID Guidelines as well as the most current Illness Policy. Please refer to this policy if your child is experiencing symptoms. If your child is absent please email OES.Attendance@oasishs.org and your child's teacher.

If your child is experiencing symptoms associated with COVID, please keep them home. For more information, please refer to the Oasis Guidelines, which includes the latest illness policy.

We are still providing masks to students who want to wear them, but did not bring them. Students who would like a mask, can reach out to a staff member in the car line or on bus duty.

Governing Board Meeting

Cape Coral Charter School Authority Special Meeting The City of Cape Coral Charter School Authority Governing Board will hold a Special Meeting on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 5:30-7:00p.m., in City Council Chambers, 1015 Cultural Park Boulevard, Cape Coral, Florida 33990 to Discuss the Oasis Charter Schools’ Mitigation and Quarantine Protocols that Align with Emergency Rule 64DER21-12, Section I “Protocols for Controlling COVID-19 in School Settings,”

Students in Quarantine

Thank you for your understanding while we all navigate Covid-19. To keep students learning while in quarantine, we are currently providing two options for families.


Pick up packets and have students complete work at home while out.

Student will receive a Q code for attendance if they turn in all completed work upon returning to school.

If work is not completed, the attendance code will be changed to AE- absent excused.

Packets can be picked up between 10:00 am – 2:00 pm daily.


Student will use Google Classroom (and packet work if necessary) to complete work at home while out.

Student will receive a Q code for attendance if they complete all necessary work in Google Classroom.

If work is not completed, the attendance code will be changed to AE- absent excused.

Use this form to request a Chromebook if needed while your student is in quarantine. Chromebooks and packets can be picked up from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm daily.

Please allow 24 hours for teachers to prepare packets and Google Classroom assignments.

A Note from Mrs. Gamboa...


Parents, Please help your child find and return overdue OES Library books. Most of these books are from the time just before the lockdown in March of 2020. As your child visits the library, I will print a reminder list. In many cases these books were placed on a shelf thinking we would be returning to school in a few weeks. Also, if your child has other overdue/missing books, please pay the cost of replacing it. I found this interesting list of locations where lost books might be hiding and wanted to share. Thank you for your prompt attention to this request.


Oasis Elementary South has their own ebook collection - SORA, containing this year's SSYRA Jr and SSYRA books, last year's state nominated books and others titles. All children have access to this collection by using their school Gmail address and password (your child's teacher will provide). Boosterthon is Coming Soon!

In just a few weeks, we’ll kick off our Oasis Elementary South Fun Run fundraiser. Pledging opens on August 20th and the program will launch September 3rd for the students.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 for Technology, School enhancements/Playground Equipment, Teacher/Staff/Student Appreciation and to strengthen our school community.

All students will participate in daily activities where they learn to be active while learning about Curiosity, Practice, Confidence, Humility and Endurance. We will also be following our school safety guidelines to ensure a safe and fun experience for everyone.

This year more than ever, we need additional funds to provide an excellent educational experience for all of our students. Sharing IS supporting! You can still be involved by simply SHARING about our fundraiser with friends and extended family online at funrun.com.

GET INVOLVED……..DOOR DECORATING - optional, but suggested!!

Door decorating starts on Tuesday, September 7th after school (3:30pm) and must be complete by end of day, Monday, September 13th. Judging will be done on Tuesday September 14th, and winners announced on Wednesday September 15th. All decor must be removed by end of day on Friday, September 17th.

Each class is responsible for decorating their door in this year's Boosterthon Theme, "Sports City World Wide". The character traits are: Curiosity, Practice, Confidence, Humility and Endurance.

Teachers may do the decorating themselves, but are encouraged to get the help of their students, and/or parents.

Parent Participants will be coordinated by Teachers and not PTO.


· Decoration is limited to DOOR ONLY and cannot impeded door function.

· Do not block window in Door—keep an opening.

· 3D decor is permitted

· All Decorating needs to be done after 3:30pm.

· Decor must include the “Sport City World Wide” Theme

· Winning doors are judged by Boosterthon.

AM Car Line

In the mornings, if your vehicle is in the second lane, furthest from the curb, please have your child remain in their vehicle until a staff member can open the door and escort them to the curb side. If you are in the second lane and a staff member has not come to assist, please hold your arm out your driver's side window to alert staff that your child is still in the vehicle.

While you are waiting, please make sure your car is in PARK, until the line proceeds.

Car Line Procedures

Because we have 3 schools on our campus, and limited parking and through-ways, it is essential to be courteous and respectful. In order to facilitate OMS arrival and dismissal, please do NOT arrive before 7:50 am in the morning and 3:00 pm in the afternoon. Also, in the morning, our staff utilizes the third (right) lane to arrive at their parking lot. Please allow them passage through if they are struggling to get by.

Students will NOT be released to cars without a current, school issued car tag. Parents without a car tag will be directed to park and report to the office and present a driver's license to have their child released to them.

AM DROP OFF: All car drop off is in the back. No cars may drop off in the front, near the office, as that is where our buses unload.

AM DROP OFF PROCEDURE: Vehicles should not line up until 7:50 am. Vehicles will enter at the OHS entrance. There are two lanes of traffic. (The third lane on the right is for staff, who need to drive to their parking lot). Also, as vehicles approach the drop off location, please have your child be ready to depart, (shoes on , bookbag packed up, ready to unbuckle and depart). Parents should stay in their vehicle. For safety reasons, it is essential that students wait in their vehicles for staff to open their car door. All vehicles will remain stopped until all students have exited to the sidewalk. A staff member will signal when it is time for the lines of traffic to proceed.

PM PICK UP: K-1 and their siblings will be picked up in the front. Students in grades 2-5 will be dismissed in the back, (same as the AM Drop Off location).

PM PICK UP PROCEDURE: Cars should not line up for dismissal until after 3:00 pm. Vehicles will be directed in by our Security person at the OHS entrance to the campus and wait in line until dismissal starts at 3:30. A staff member will read the car tags as cars approach and have the cars move forward toward the pick up location. Parents should wait in their vehicle. Staff will be directing children.

Extra Car Tag

It is our school policy for all vehicles to have a current car tag, in order to pick up students. Every student was give one car tag at Open House. If your family will need a second car tag, please complete this survey. In order to submit the survey, you will need your child's 2021-2022 teacher assignment.


If your primary residence in FOCUS is listed as 1.5 miles or less, and you would like your child to be dismissed with walkers, please complete this Walker Request. Students who do not live within 1.5 miles from school will not be able to dismiss as walkers.

New Sign In/Sign Out Policy

This year, parents of students who arrive late or are leaving early must sign their child in/out with the office. Our office staff will greet you at the door.

Dress Code

Please check our Dress Code carefully before purchasing shoes and clothing for school. Students will not be permitted to wear clothing that is not within our dress code. All uniforms should have our new logos on them.

Please note: Slip on shoes are not permitted. This includes VANS style shoes.


Systemwide and Schoolwide Communication

Once again this year, we will use Parent Square as our main form of communication. We use Parent Square for weekly information, upcoming events, changes in dismissal, weather issues, COVID notices and other pertinent information. It is vital to to be reachable through this system. It is available through email or an app.

Families who attended OES last year, will already be registered. Students who are new to OES and are not already registered in Parent Square, will receive an email invitation asking to activate the account. This email will be sent to the email you used to register, (and the email that is in FOCUS). You may need to check your junk or spam email, as it sometimes goes there.

The Parent Portal on our web site has lots of good resources. You can access our Dress Code, order shirts, familiarize yourself with our Health Policies, and find out more about our Early Dismissal procedures.


If you have to pick up your child early, email OES.dismissalchanges@oasishs.org and CC the teacher.

Be sure to include the following information:

  • Student Name
  • Grade
  • Teacher
  • What time you are picking them up
  • Are they returning afterwards?
  • Reason

Reminder: We do not dismiss after 2:45 pm daily.

2022-2023 Kindergarten Wait List Information

For more information on registration for students entering Kindergarten in 2022-2023, please view this document, on our OES web site, regarding necessary forms required for prospective students who will be starting Kindergarten in August 2022. This year, we will be accepting electronic applications. This form is now available in the Parent Portal, under Prospective Students on our OES web site.
