Smart Schools NY

Through the Smart Schools Bond Act (SSBA), our District is eligible for up to $2.7 million. We are seeking funds in 4 identified areas including Classroom Learning Technology, High-Tech Security, Community Connectivity, and School Connectivity. The process is long and somewhat complicated. You can read more about it here or see the district link at www.saratogaschools.org/smartschools where you will find a FAQ sheet and other information.

The Future of SMART

As with all technologies, SMART Boards are no different. Take a look at what's replacing the board you've come to know and love! This is the newest iteration of interactive "boards" from SMART. Not a board at all, but a 70-inch LCD flat panel interactive monitor that allows multiple users to work at the same time and a display that is clear even in the brightest of rooms!

Shifting to a New Elementary Report Card

This year we are using a new elementary report card for grades K-5. This new document was designed to be straight forward and easy for families to use and teachers to create.

The report card committee worked to develop Saratoga learning standards and streamline the grade reporting descriptors. In addition, special areas are now included in the new document.

As with any new custom report there are some things that we will look at based on feedback from this year. Overall, input has been positive but not without challenges!
