The Lake Ridge Bridge

Weekly Recap
Hopefully this message finds you in good spirits. Thank you so much for trusting us to educate, support, and inspire your children this school year. We are also thankful for your understanding the first week as our goals were to teach, model, practice, and reinforce campus and district expectations and procedures. We are also appreciative of your patience as we refine our traffic flow during afternoon dismissal. Having increased traffic means increased enrollment, and we are happy about that. As a district, we are committed to focusing heavily on Culture the first weeks of school, and the focus will continue throughout the school year.
Take time to ask your children about various Essentials, expectations, and procedures that they have learned. Scholars also had a chance to engage in various class-building and team-building activities so that they could get to know teachers and peers. As we progress through the school year, scholars will engage in various social-emotional learning (SEL) lessons, and we will send more information prior to the start of that particular curriculum so that you will be aware and can reinforce at home. Through SEL and restorative practices, scholars will be empowered to connect, communicate, collaborate, embrace diversity, and resolve conflict. As an institution of learning, we are charged with educating our scholars regarding various academics, and we also aim to help all children become respectful, compassionate, and caring adults for the future.
As we continue along this journey, please know that this is a collaborative effort between school and home. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, we value your input, and we take all things into consideration. Should you have anything to share, contact the Main Office so that we can strengthen our collaborative effort in achieving excellence.
Read the information located on below in the newsletter to learn about campus/district happenings, important reminders, news from APD and PTA, and upcoming events. Always remember that "The Race for Excellence has No Finish Line."

IMPORTANT REMINDERS
Birthday Recognition
If you would like to recognize your child at school on his/her birthday that falls on a school day, please contact your child’s teacher so that he/she can notify the office.
- On your child's birthday, you may bring store bought cupcakes and individual juice/water at 2:30 p.m. if you have communicated with the teacher in advance.
- Cupcakes should not be dropped off and left with the teacher or the office.
- If your child's birthday falls on a weekend or on a non-school day for scholars, no alternate arrangements will be made.
- Arrangements should be made prior to the child's birthday so that the teacher can verify that it will not interrupt scheduled class activities.
Dismissal at Lake Ridge
- PK/SKILL traffic should enter through the Main Entrance, loop around through the parking lot, and park in the outside lane on the indicated side. Once that lane is full, other traffic should remain in the middle lane of the main driveway. Space will need to be left for the Special Education buses to make a left turn. Traffic will exit from the Back Entrance in the other lane.
- K-5 traffic should enter through the Back entrance, and form a line; scholars exit from door #5. Traffic will proceed in front of the campus in the main driveway to leave traveling in the far outside lane (closest to the parking lot). Vehicles will exit from the Main Entrance.
- Buses will enter through the Main Entrance and loop around through the parking lot to park in the first lane (closest to the school/sidewalk) near door #11.
- Special Education buses will enter through the Main Entrance and turn left so that they can park in the first lane (closest to the school/sidewalk) near door #11.
