Parking Lot & Driveway
Thank you so much for helping us as we are making changes in our parking lot and driveway. It is our primary goal to keep all of our students safe as they are arriving and departing school which is why you will continue to see small changes.
In the next month our front parking lot will have one entrance blocked during our peak times. At that time, all cars will enter and exit our lot off Dooley which will help speed up the car line. If you are driving a car to our campus, it is an expectation that you use this car line for arrival and drop off. This is the safest route to ensure that your students are safe.
If you have questions about the upcoming changes please call the front office and we will be happy to talk with you.

PTA FUN RUN FINAL UPDATE AND BIG THANK YOU!
The inaugural Silver Lake Elementary Fun Run on September 14th was a HUGE success! To everyone who supported our school and came out to the Fun Run, THANK YOU! Our Fun Run also came with a world-class character theme. This year’s theme was CASTLE QUEST, an English castle theme all about being brave and living with character. Students learned the “SIX VIRTUES of a TRUE HERO” from a cast of colorful characters like Muscle Mike and T-Rex Lex, attended a school pep-a-rally, earned prizes and ran up to 35 laps each during the fun run event. Our school goal was to raise $15,000 for Teacher Grants, Classroom Resources and Student Awards & Activities. We were able to raise a record-breaking $20,005 . Thanks again for generously supporting Silver Lake Elementary! Here are a few FUN FACTS from our fun run this year: - All 540 students in grades K – 5 participated in the fun run - Students Registered Online: 64% or 346 out of 540 registered their child online - Students Pledged: 53% or 286 out of 540 received a pledge - We received pledges from all over the world. Pledges came in from 36 states and 8 countries!!! A special thank you to our corporate and family t-shirt sponsors that made it possible to provide a free Silver Lake Elementary Fun Run t-shirt to every child in grades K – 5 that will also be used for class field trips! § State Farm – Garrett Spegar – www.TeamSpegar.com § Mom is Fit – Personal Fitness for Busy Moms! – Bridgette Shamburger § NY Pizza, Pasta and Subs of Grapevine § Andy’s Frozen Custard of Grapevine § Silver Lake Elementary PTA § The Dorgan family § The Nesta Family § The Pfeil family § The Tink family § The Wilson family Thank you! GCISD STUDENT VOICE
As part of the "Student Voice" initiative in GCISD, students across the district will periodically complete questionnaires and surveys to provide feedback on their learning experiences. Sometimes these surveys are informal (such as feedback on a recent unit, etc...), and sometimes they are more comprehensive (such as a Gallup survey, etc...). Most surveys will be anonymous, and all surveys will be used for the purpose of providing the best learning environment possible for students. If you have any questions about the Student Voice initiative, feel free to ask your student's teacher or the campus administration for more information.
