End of Year Procedures
If you have work that your students would want returned to them, please plan on going in to get that work and organize it by grade and name, then bring it up to the main office deck. An administrator is at school every day from 9 until noon, on a rotation, and you can enter the building during this time. Our custodial staff is working hard to sanitize rooms, so you may see a sign on the door that indicates when the room was worked on and by whom. If you enter, please wear a mask, and indicate on the same note that you did, so that they know it will need to be sanitized again.
We will distribute student belongings according to the schedules below.
Finals Schedule
- We leave it to each teacher to decide what their final assessment might be. This can be a project, portfolio, assignments, or test
- We want to give everyone a "finals schedule" so that if teachers plan to hold a final zoom meeting, there will be no conflicts. Please stick to this schedule for any meetings the students must attend.
The finals schedule is slightly adjusted due to altered graduation plans, (noted further down). While it is a non-traditional sequence, this was to be mindful of seniors who will be participating in our in-person ceremony on June 2nd, and the reduced number of seniors with 6th period classes, in hopes that we lower any impact having these two events on the same day might have.
This hopefully will also allow staff who are interested in attending the graduation event to do so.

Graduation Plan
We have decided on two approaches:
First, the in-person receiving of the diploma.
Seniors will be given appointment slots to come to school in cap and gown. They will be allowed one car per family, which should be immediate family members only. They will be required to wear a mask when they exit their car, and they will be directed to the stadium.
In the stadium, we will play Pomp and Circumstance, and will have a staging area for each family around the field, with a centerpiece balloon arch and diploma station.
When it is a senior's turn, their name will be called, and one of their parents will be able to hand them their diploma.
These appointment slots will be covering two days time:
Tuesday June 2 between 3pm and 8pm
Wednesday June 3 between 9am and 2pm.
We will need staff volunteers to assist with flow for this event, and we would invite teachers who are interested in attending to bring lawn chairs and place themselves around the turf or in the stands, socially distanced of course.
The second part of the graduation celebration is the video. We are compiling elements for a commencement ceremony and will "premiere" this video online at 7pm June 3rd. It includes student speakers, the staff speaker, principal's address, board member address, musical selections, and of course the reading of the names. We are excited to be working with a professional videographer for the production of this video, and will host it on the school YouTube channel.
