Salary Supplement in ECPS
The Edgecombe County Board of Education pays a salary supplement that is in addition to base salaries. Over the past few years, the Board, along with the Superintendent, have worked diligently to increase the amount of the supplement. The teacher supplement is 10% of the annual salary and is paid 1/2 in November and 1/2 in March. The classified supplement is $300 and paid once a year in November. Supplements are pro-rated based on actual time worked.

The specific position is in our low incidence classroom; it would require an individual to lift and toilet students and provide individual instruction with the help of the classroom teacher.

My name is Haley Owens, and I am honored to serve as the assistant principal this year. I am both a native of Edgecombe County and a proud product of Edgecombe County Public Schools.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from East Carolina University in 2015. After graduation, I returned home to Edgecombe County, where I have served as an educator for over seven years. I obtained my Master of School Administration at North Carolina State University.
During my free time, I love to spend time with my family, friends, and dogs. I also enjoy traveling and reading. I look forward to a wonderful year a SouthWest Edgecombe!

About Me Personally
-Loving husband to Theresa. I’m a dedicated father to 7 children/stepchildren and 7
grandchildren.
-I love to travel, attending sporting events, and lying on my sofa.
-Truly love being around people and making a difference in the lives of others.
About Me Professionally
- Being a part of Edgecombe County Public Schools has really changed my life.
-First academic school year with Southwest Edgecombe High School as assistant
principal.
-Served Coker-Wimberly Elementary as assistant principal for one academic school year.
-Taught Social Studies at Tarboro High School for 3 ½ years.
- Exceptional Education Teacher for 14 ½ year with Nash-Rocky-Mount Public Schools.
- This is my 20th year in education.
- Child and Adolescent Day Treatment Qualified Professional (CADT QP) with
Progressive Care Services, Inc.
- My work experience and history has afforded me the opportunity to gain valuable work
experience in education and the mental health field. My career experience provided me
the opportunity to serve youth on all levels, who were challenged behaviorally,
academically, socially, and economically. I’m a licensed minister and a member of a
local church. We spend time serving the community, the local homeless shelter, and the
elderly.

Lauren Lampron, EdD || principal
Personally:
- Mother to Luca (we come as a package, so you'll see us at many of our school events). When our family made the decision for me to join the family of SWE, it was understood that we were both becoming Cougars. I encourage you to get to know Luca as you get to know me. Relationships matter (plus he is pretty cool).
- I moved from PA to teach at CB Martin Middle School in 2010 and I've been here ever since!
- I love all things related to exploring: I enjoy geocaching, escape rooms, trying new restaurants, and meeting new people.

- Attended West Chester University (state school in PA for Psychology), East Carolina University (for teaching license), and NC State (for masters and doctorate).
- Served ECPS for 12 years.
