Shipman's News

June 9

Last few days of Grade 5 (sigh, sad face, lots of tears running down my face)

Where has the time gone? I feel like I have just blinked and it's June! I have had the pleasure of having your your child this year in my classroom-thank you! I have watched your child grow, learn, question, reason, argue, respond in writing or verbally, become independent learners, gain new friends, and most importantly-SMILE! It has been a blessing for me! I wish you and your families a happy and healthy summer.

Please remind your child to read or think about what they are reading daily (or at the very least, every other day). Don't let reading become a chore, but more of an enjoyment. Have your child pick up a magazine, newspaper, book or article on-line, directions for something, recipe, or what have you. Reading over the summer is for students to practice the learned skills they have adapted over the school year. So many of the students reached learning goals they probably never thought they would have-I AM SO PROUD OF EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM!
