Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) Testing Information:

State Testing takes place in March for all Grade 3, 4, & 5 students. There are a total of six test sessions, three for reading and three for math. The testing schedule is designed so that students will take only one testing session each day.

Habit #4- Think Win- Win- Student Award Winners

At the SWMM students who demonstrated Habit #3 were recognized by their teachers. The students at each grade level who earned this award are pictured below.

March's Focus Habit is - Habit #5

During this month, we will be focussing on Habit 5: "Seek to Understand, Then to be Understood." The video below was shared with the students during last week's morning meeting!

WHS Spring Musicals are Coming Soon!

Our WHS Spring Musicals are right around the corner.

Like last year, we will be having our performances at Glenn Westlake Middle School. (GWMS is located behind Manor Hill School, on Main St. south of Roosevelt Rd. This should allow us more space to safely enjoy the show. Listed below are some important details regarding our musicals:

  • All families will enter GWMS at the Main Entrance, Door #1.

  • Doors will open at 6:40 p.m.

  • One adult will be asked to drop off your child, and then pick them up after the show at their assigned classroom.

  • Classroom teachers will supervise students during the time the students are not on stage.

  • Classroom assignments will be sent home the week before the performances!

Grades 3-5 Will Perform on Tuesday, 3/24 at 7:00 p.m.

Grades Kdg.- 2 Will Perform on Thursday, 3/26 at 7:00 p.m.

One School One Book- Coming in April

This April, WHS will be participating in One School, One Book! Each and every WHS family will receive a copy of our chosen book along with a reading schedule. All families are invited and encouraged to read it together with us. This is a great way to come together as school family. We have lots of fun activities planned. Stay tuned! Books, schedules, and family resources will be delivered right after Spring Break!

Below you will find the official 2020 Stars & Spikes: Miles for the Military race shirt! This shirt wil be included with every 5K and 1 Mile registration. Registration will open up next week! Stay tuned!

Congratulations Penelope Dinglasan!

Penelope Dinglasan was a top finalist in the Lombard Service League's Annual Poetry Contest! At February 13th's Lombard Service League meeting, Penelope read her poem and was awarded a prize for her and some friends! Way to go Penelope! Great job representing WHS!

Great Job Matilda Sproule- Principal for the (half) Day!

Matilda won "Principal for the Day" honors at this fall's Family Fitness Night! The school was in great hands! Matilda did a fantastic job. She runs a tight ship and kept things in order (and me on task:).
