Let the Learning Continue!
It has been a wonderful two weeks at WHS. I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed interacting with the students in our building. I have seen such positivity, along with so many students participating in opportunities to connect. It was wonderful to see so many students take advantage of our club call out meetings last week, and we enjoyed the opportunity to welcome students new to WHS at our New Student Mixers! We sincerely hope that your student is feeling welcome and valued here at school.
Please see the important information below. I am very excited to give you the chance to "meet" your students' teachers through the "Meet the Teacher" videos that are posted on each teacher's Canvas home page. You can access those through the parent portal or with your student from their home page. See the notes below for more information.
Looking forward to another wonderful week!
New Information This Week
WWS Mask Policy
Our WWS mask mandate began today, Monday, August 23, 2021. Here are some points to remember:
- Both face masks and face shields are allowed this year.
- Students or staff who are 6 feet away can go unmasked. Teachers may have students do this for brief periods in class.
- Students and staff do not have to wear masks outdoors.
- We must contact trace any student who is closer than 3 feet, whether masked or unmasked. If the person who was contact traced has been vaccinated, they will not have to quarantine.
- If a student does not comply and refuses to wear a mask, they should be sent down to the office and will be sent home.

Naviance Sessions Begin This Week
Naviance is a one-stop shop for all students and parents in the world of preparing for college and career readiness. Every student in the district, grades 7-12, has a Naviance account.
Naviance offers things like career and personality assessments, and a college super match site with admission statistics where students can compare their own information with those of other students applying to a specific high education institution.
This week, our WHS Counselors will begin meeting with freshmen and juniors during their English classes (this happens each trimester) to talk about Naviance.
Our sophomores will access it during CORE and will use the site for career planning.
Seniors use it for requesting transcripts and updating their college status.
If parents would like to log in to their student's Naviance account, they should contact their student's counselor.
