Big picture

We are so grateful for students, parents, families, and the community. Thank you for making Fairfield a wonderful place to be! Happy Thanksgiving!

Fundraising Has Begun!

Dieleman's fundraising catalogues were sent home with all students this week. We encourage families to participate as you are able, and share the catalogues with family and friends.

You can order online at: www.dfscanada.com

The Fairfield school code is: 7145

All orders are due by November 5th - thank you for your support! All funds raised will go to support student learning and experiences.

Emergency Drills

We have been practising some of our emergency drills this week, and will continue next week also. Practising things like safe evacuation in the event of a fire help to ensure we are all prepared. This week we had 2 fire drills and next week we welcome Loyalist Fire to observe our practice. We will also be discussing and practising our lock down procedures in the next couple of weeks. Staff will engage in age-appropriate teaching with students about these important safety protocols.

Staff Update

This month we welcome Mrs. Leah Parkes as JK/SK teacher. Ms Sarah Kelly moves into the Planning Time position. Welcome to you both!

We are thrilled that you are part of the Fairfield community!

Thank you Director Burra for visiting Fairfield today!

Terry Fox Challenge

Fairfield Elementary School smashed the $500 goal set for the Terry Fox Foundation. Amazing effort! $1240 was raised! We are grateful to Mrs. Beal who challenged the school and community to donate by agreeing to dye her hair should the goal be met.

Many thanks to everyone who donated and to all staff and students for participating in activities and events that remind us to "Try Like Terry".

Rainy Days

We go outside for recess twice a day, rain or shine. Unless it is pouring, we do not have indoor recess. Students are encouraged to have a rain jacket in the event of inclement weather.

A friendly reminder that the doors are open for student entrance at 8:55am. Due to cohorting we cannot have students in the building prior to 8:55am.

Water Bottle

Please don't forget to pack a water bottle every day for your child. There are several water bottle filling stations throughout the school, but there are no water fountains (due to covid restrictions). It is important for students to be hydrated throughout the day and students require water. Bringing a bottle for water each day is helpful - thank you!

Feeling unwell? Please use the covid screener daily to ensure that you are able to come to school. If you are unwell please stay home until symptom free!

If you child is going to be absent from learning, please ensure you use the Safe Arrival system to report the absence.
