JV Leadership Message
As the snow begins to fly and winter sets in, thoughts of hibernation sometimes creep in and we want to go inside and sit and wait for sprint to arrive. However we need to be mindful of the importance of “Physical Literacy” for our children. Our teachers work hard to ensure our students are developing academically, spiritually, socially, and physically during the time that they are at school but we need the “village” to help when they are out of the school. Over the next few weeks we will be sharing links to some articles from the Alberta Teachers Association dealing with the importance of developing physical literacy in children. We hope these articles can help you in ensuring that your child grows up healthy and happy! At the school we are committed to promoting active living and healthy eating, and we are hoping that you will support us by not hibernating with your children this winter, but will get out and be active!!

Grade 4 Retreat
Our Grade 4 Leadership Teams are up and running and students have been meeting and working on activities around the school. As a way to kick off our year, students will be travelling to Camp Van-Es on Friday, October 21st for the whole day. The day will consist of faith and leadership activities, encouraging students to form new friendships and connect with God.
We will be leaving the school at 9:00 am and returning back to school by 3:00 pm. As we will be outside throughout the day, please ensure that your child is dressed for the weather and is wearing appropriate footwear. Camp Van-Es staff will be preparing us a healthy lunch and your child will be provided with a snack in the morning. If your child has any allergies or would prefer to bring a bagged lunch from home, please communicate this with your child’s teacher.
If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher.
Thank you,
The Grade 4 Team, Mr. Marshall and Mrs. Boehm
