Principal's Point
It's hard to believe the Winter MAP testing window begins the week we return from Thanksgiving break! Please remind your child of the importance of this test in determining instructional placement. We are looking forward to seeing growth all students are making!
The last couple of weeks our weather has been getting cooler. Please pay close attention to the weather forecasts and help your child choose appropriate clothing to stay warm throughout the day. Students in grades K-5 go outside for recess when the temperature is above 32 degrees. If a student is not dressed warmly enough, he or she will need to stay inside for recess.

Student Council Canned Food Drive
Student Council is partnering with the Independence Police Department and Independence FOP #75 to collect canned goods beginning November 19th through December 14, 2018. This is a wonderful way to give back to our community and to families living in Independence. Students donating canned or boxed foods (no glass) can place items in the collection bins located at the community entrance. The grade level with the most donated goods collected will win a donut party with the runner-up receiving a donut hole party! Student Council members thank you for your support!
