"Nov-Dec TBO Update"
Quality update
"Once, twice, three times a charm!"
The original composition listed 100% Cotton. The units in inventory was mixed with the original composition and units that list "100% Polyester, Lining: 100% Polyester". The restock that arrived list "90% Cotton, 10% Viscose". All units with the incorrect composition will be returned to the vendor.
"Oatmeal and About Sweater"
"Flipping the script"
We had a total of six Kling styles that arrived in November with numerical sizes reading 1 through 5 opposed to XS through XL. All sizes had the alpha sizing on the opposite side of the tag except for the XL sizes. All styles were processed. The XL size runs were returned to the vendor.
We received the bulk shipment for the Promo style Carb Fête Tee. The shipment that we received was the completely wrong style. The units in the shipment listed the correct style number on the poly bags and hang tags. The order is being returned to the vendor in exchange for the correct style.
“My point is, life is about balance. The good and the bad. The highs and the lows. The pina and the colada.” ― Ellen DeGeneres
The vendor is being contacted to see if we can arrange for replacements that have a more uniformed asymmetrical hem line.
"Ever stop to think, and forget to start again?"
Too often, we also receive the plus sizes of new or active styles that have composition issues. They simply do not align with the regular sizes.
Biggest issues for November and December were changes in styles upon restock.

We’ve finally gained access to the compliance reporting that the receivers are entering every time they receive a style! Here’s what we came up with in November/December 2013 and look for more detailed information on compliance in the coming months!
Please note: All information below is for ALL styles received and is not restricted to TBO.
463 Compliance Issues!
Out of the 4,933 receipts in November and December, there were 463 that had one or more compliance issues, which comes out to about 9% of styles coming in the door that have some kind of compliance issue. There were 1,305 receipts that had no information entered into the header.
The two most specific issues we look for are whether the style arrived with a packing slip or invoice and if it was smart sorted. There were a total of 225 styles that arrived without a packing slip, which comes out to about 5%. There were 272 styles that were not smart sorted, about 6% of style we receive.
Other issues that were reported:
- Boxes not being labeled correctly (or not at all): 36 styles
- Product not individually packaged or poly bagged (or on hangers): 15 styles
- Product not labeled with correct size: 1 style
Coming Soon!
I’ll be adding the following things into future newsletters and reports:
- PLUS VP’s will be separated from regular in future reports
- More detailed statistics on the outcome of VP’s (RTV, Processed with discount, etc.)
- Stat drill-downs on the most problematic vendors
As always, if you have anything you’d like to see in these reports (or anything you’re not using at all), please let us know!
Customer Care Update
Farewell Ashley!!!!
Meet Jenny!!!!!!!
ModStylist and Customer Care Advocate
Hello everyone! I'm Jen (or, since there are two Jen S ModStylists, you can also refer to me as Jenny if need be). I've been a proud member of the ModTeam since June of 2012, and a ModStylist since May of 2013. To be honest, although I don't have any formal training in our industry, I love helping our customers realize their own style, and express themselves through our amazing items!
I currently reside in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, with my long-time boyfriend and a pretty intense yearning for a dog-- whom we will name "Porkchop". When I'm not putting together Polyvore boards or chatting up a storm with our customers, I'm at home painting, cooking/baking, doing house-projects, or enjoying whatever outdoor activities are available! I'm happy to become more involved with processes that will help create the best experience possible for our customers, and excited to work with ya'll! Happy holidays!
Customer Feedback!
While the transition left a small turn-around time for pulling feedback, this edition may be a bit shorter than for months to come. I'm happy to say though, that our customers are quite pleased with the collection we've provided so far for the winter season!
- For tops, customers would like to see more varieties from Sugarhill Boutique as well as Miss Patina (collared, classic styles). We've received generally great feedback on the cardigans/jackets we've had available so far this season.
-For bottoms, we haven't been hearing too much other than requests for more bright patterns for skirts, as well as patterned slim-fit denim. Our growing variety of novelty leggings are a hit, and many customers are asking for more of the current options, or other patterns if available! Shorts/jumpers haven't really gotten a lot of feedback lately (at least not from what I've gathered).
-For outerwear, our customers are looking for more hooded styles, like pea-coats and jackets. Customers would also like to see more Steve Madden coats (feedback that these are really nice quality for a reasonable price).
**One specific to note for our outerwear is that there have been a couple items in the past that are coming up under a vegan search, but have some wool in the fabric consistency, which are raising some brows. If we can bring in more vegan options for feaux-leather jackets/coats, they'll likely be a hit!
