Weekly Comm Plan
Feb. 11 - Feb. 15
Notes
Staff & social media
This goes in line a bit of what I mentioned at OAC about a month ago where I feel like staff are sharing a little too much. We all have our opinions but it's the act of putting it out there publicly, instead of a text to a friend or even a group text. (And it doesn't matter how "private" you have your page, it's all public.)
I just wanted all of you to be aware of it. Thank you.
What is Public Relations?
"Public relations is the management function that establishes and maintains mutually beneficial relationships between an organization and the publics on whom its success or failure depends." (EPR 11th)
We all have a different mission in our roles in education. This is a great summary of mine. The last part, "on whom its success or failure depends" is so poignant. That's why I care so much about telling our story in so many different ways, to so many different groups/stakeholders.

Communications Tip of the Week
This week, I want to share with you "Every Touch Point Matters", to build off an article I recently sent. A touch point is a moment in time when the customer interacts with your brand. A touch point is any chance a customer has to make a judgment of the entire company. When an employee answers the phone. When someone pulls into the parking lot. When the A/C turns on. Again, I encourage you to walk through your school as a "customer" and take note of how well you score on each touch point.
Here's a quote to think about from his book. "A person will possibly base their entire perception of a school based on one interaction with one employee."
Let's make it a positive one! Have a great week!
