Prestwood Connection
March 6, 2023
Last week, we celebrated Read Across America Week. Prestwood students sure LOVE to read! So far this school year, more than 6,000 books have been checked out from our school library. Last Wednesday, we had guest readers visit classrooms to read to students. So many fun memories from last week!
MPR - It was so great to have our first community event in the MPR! Students had the opportunity to tour the building last week. Students especially loved seeing the new stage. I am looking forward to our Prestwood Talent Show taking place on our new stage in April.
Breakfast & Lunch - Starting on Monday, breakfast and lunch will now be served in the MPR.
Staff Parking Lot - Staff will soon be parking behind the MPR building. While the finishing touches are put on the building, I ask that Prestwood families continue to use the main parking lot and reserve this lot for Prestwood staff members. Thank you for your understanding and respecting the staff parking lot.
Trustee Anne Ching Office Hour @ Prestwood - Prestwood parents and guardians are invited to meet with Trustee Ching on Monday morning from 8:30am - 9:30am in the library. She will be hosting monthly office hours. This is a time to ask questions and meet her in person at Prestwood.
Prestwood Community Meeting with Acting Superintendent - The next Prestwood Community meeting will take place on Monday, March 20th. I encourage all parents and guardians to attend this virtual meeting to learn more about the 2023 - 2025 school configuration planning. Also, please take a few minutes to complete a short survey to share your thoughts, idea, and concerns about school configuration plans.

SVUSD Community: Have you ever been interested in the work of a school district employee? Do you have some time on your hands and wouldn't mind making a little extra money while serving our valley's youth?
We have two opportunities for you!
If you have a bachelor's degree and are interested in being a guest teacher, please contact Danielle Contreras at Dcontreras@sonomaschools.org for details! Guest teachers can earn up to $209/day and the work is quite rewarding...and regular!
In addition to guest teachers, we are seeking hardworking, dedicated, and compassionate adults to serve as classified substitutes at this time. We have experienced an increasing need as an outcome of the Pandemic and could use support in clerical work, transportation, campus supervision, student support and so much more. If you are interested in being added to our classified employee sub-pool, please contact Ann Marie Paparelli at Apaparelli@sonomaschools.org to begin the simple process of onboarding. These are paid positions and the compensation varies by the type of work completed.
Thank you!
