That is alot of information but the days go so quickly! Hope it helps you to be in the know and plan ahead. I will up date it as needed.
It looks like the school is no longer going to support (pay for) Reflex Math. I am not sure when the program will expire on us. Ms Hayunga has chosen to renew Education Galaxy instead. I will get the class set up and teach them how to use it soon and then send home the log in card information to you. I will also find out if Fast Math is still available and get that information out to you as well. You are welcome to buy your own membership to Reflex Math and keep your child working on it. I love the program and have seen HUGE results with it. For the classroom it is about $35 a kiddo and so I can't pay for that at this time. So look and see if it fits into your budget to set up an account at home for your children.
The kids got a glowing report from the substitute. She actually said she couldn't wait for me to be out again so she can come back. WOW! Thanks for your support at home.
Have a wonderful weekend!

WHAT WE'VE BEEN LEARNING
Language Arts-We worked on creating mental images in our head as we read. This helps you visualize what the author is trying to tell you and understand and remember the story better. We used several books, poems and even songs to practice but our focus story was The Salamander Room. We talked about adjectives and how they are used to tell us what kind, which one and how many.
Science-We have our Matter Museum up in the 2nd grade hall. We sorted objects by properties and worked on vocabulary. We used those properties to create a carrier for marbles. It had to have a handle and had to support the weight of the marbles for 45 seconds.
