Please keep Ms. Austin and in your thoughts and/or prayers. Her brother, Jeffrey Brown, passed away Tuesday.


The Department of K-12 Curriculum and Instruction is currently accepting applications for the United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP). The United States Senate Youth Program offers two student leaders from each state the opportunity to spend a week in Washington, D.C., to learn more about the functions of the federal government. Delegates hear major policy addresses by senators, cabinet members, directors of federal agencies, and officials for the Departments of State and Defense. Also, the delegates are allowed to participate in a meeting with a Justice of the United States Supreme Court.

Interested applicants must be a:

  • current junior or senior;
  • current elected Student Government Association (SGA), class, or civic organization officer; and,
  • resident of the United States.

Please encourage students who meet the qualifications to complete the application. The deadline to submit the application to Ms. Cunningham is Wednesday, September 16.

Perfect Attendance Passes - Slight Delay

Perfect Attendance Passes for August will be delayed until the week of September 21. We apologize for the delay.

5th Period

Here is the link for the rosters for 5th Period, which is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:20-5:20 (a copy of this has been place in the OneDrive Data Room). If you see a student in your classes (especially your 4th period), please encourage them to attend. Students who complete 5th period will receive a carnegie unit, which, for many, will put them back on track to graduate by year-end. Transportation is provided to participants.

Study Hall

Study Hall will be next week. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we will offer students a quiet space to study from 3:20-5:20 in the Media Center. Transportation will be provided to participating students. We are also looking for peer tutors - please have interested students contact me.
