Integumentary System Functions
In the integumentary system there are many ways it helps the body. The system includes hair, skin, and nails. Skin helps protect everything that is inside of the body so everything is protected and is in place. Hair is an extra protection for the skin. Eyebrows help not get sweat in it. Skin helps protect the body against sun burn and skin cancer. Skin helps with temperature and also is a with sensory receptor. Not to mention skin helps heal wounds.

Often grow faster in summer than winter. Can grow up to a millimeter a day!
Layers of skin
The 2 layers of skin is ther dermis and the epidermis. The epidermis is the top layer of skin. It protects everything inside of your body. The dermis is the inner layer of skin. It helps fight against bad things that come into the body. The epidermis try's to stop it comeing in. Whenever the body gets hurt it creates a wound. The dermis layer is healing the wound while the epidermis is protecting it while it's being healed. Some problems that can happen with skin is sunburn. Sunburn happens when you get too much sun and the melanin in your body can't fight it. Ways to stop it is sunblock and ways to heal it is aloe vera. Another skin problem is rashes. Rashes occurs when there's to the skin irritation or an allergic relation to something. Ways to solve is is sometimes using some creams but it's best to just leav it alone. Yet another skin problem can be vitiligo. Vitiligo is a condition where the cells that produce color don't function properly. It turns random patches of your skin turns a pale light color. One of the best treatments for this disorder is light treatment for a doctor.
