168th Lighthouse School in the Nation, Building Leaders

Tuscany Heights Elementary

Tuscany Heights is the 168th Lighthouse School in the Nation as recognized by Stephen Covey. Through student leadership, we grow leaders that encompass a growth mindset and establish lifelong skills that will support our students as they grow into adults. Our mission is a living action statement that we use to guide Team Tuscany, as we do great things for all.

"We, THE Tigers, will be inspired to LEAD, HONOR, and EXCEL today!"

Bailey's Bulletin

Happy Veterans Day to all of our service men and women. We had a wonderful celebration on Friday, but I am sure we missed some of our Tuscany families due to travel, etc. Thank you for all that you do!

Thank you for the incredible showing for our Run for the Heights Boosterthon Fun Run! We are raising money to support our school for various reasons: STEAM Field Trips, STEAM Supplies, Classroom Resources, PTA Scholarships, and more. We appreciate your contribution! Come out on Friday, Nov. 16th and join in the RFTH Fun Run!

As we move into more of the football season, we are seeing more and more aspiration to play organized sports at recess. Please take a moment to talk to your children about the safety of the various sports: football, basketball, soccer, etc. We have had many requests for tackle football, and this is not allowed. We understand the value in team sports and want to honor this gift of time for our students. However, we have had some recent injuries and discipline to come from some of the games. We are asking the teachers to talk with their classes, and we would love your support as well. Thank you!

We are adding more and more Tuscany Fans to Twitter, Tuscany Heights Elementary's Facebook, and THE's INSTAGRAM (_thetigers144). We want more!!! We are telling our Tiger Story to all. We are posting classroom activities and sharing all the happenings here with our community. With the STEAM Initiative, you can see fun, interactive activities your kids are involved in throughout the day, week, and/or month. Links are at the top of the page. Join our social media and see your child LEAD!

Proud Principal,

Tara Bailey

Run For The Heights with Boosterthon – Nov 6-16

Run For The Heights with Boosterthon is happening now! Our schoolwide fundraiser with Boosterthon will continue on all this week! Our fun runs will take place on Friday November 16th and the schedule is as follows: 4th and 5th grades at 8:00am, kinder and 1st grade at 9:00, 2nd and 3rd grades at 10:00. We would love to have all of our parents and families join us on fun run day to help cheer on our students as they run to raise money for our school, please keep an eye out for information on how to RSVP.

Our school is having a blast preparing for the Run For The Heights with Boosterthon Fun Run! We've also begun to learn how to solve problems using character through Boosterthon's character theme, MindSpark Mystery Lab. While they're teaming up with the MindSpark Kids to solve mysteries, your students will learn five 21st-century character traits that will help strengthen themselves and our world. Make sure to ask your students what they've learned each day, and together you can watch the story unfold on funrun.com!

Remember, we need your help connecting to sponsors who can make a pledge to help our school! Please make sure all pledges for THE Run For The Heights are entered on funrun.com. The more pledges we get, the more incentives classes can earn on the Pledge-O-Meter. Make sure to register your child on funrun.com by using our school registration code: 952492.

Lost and Found!

Be Proactive for the 2018-19 school year! Please label your child's belongings (lunch boxes, water bottles, sweaters and backpacks). That way if they happen to end up in the LOST and FOUND, we can return them to their owner.

Calling all Student Volunteers!

Does your student volunteer at Tuscany Heights through patrols, broadcasting, library lifesavers or any other leadership position? Does your student do community service through scouts or your church? Does your student volunteer at any organizations such as a food bank or animal shelter? If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, we want to know so we can acknowledge your child! If you already have an account at the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) website then don't forget to log your child's hours. If you are new to logging hours, please create a PVSA account for your Tiger so you can start logging. Full instructions can be found on the Tuscany Heights PTA website: http://www.tuscanyheightspta.org/presidential-volunteer-service-award.html Check the weekly eBlasts for information on community service activities offered at Tuscany Heights during the school year. Please contact Kelly Cardenas at communityservice@tuscanyheightspta.org with any questions.
